Apex 2014, featured over 1,000 unique players across Smash 64, Smash Melee, Smash Brawl, and Project M, has released pools. I seem to have not been placed in a pool (or my name was misspelled somehow even though I just checked that I did sign up as "Fizzi"). Ctrl+F on big list does not find my name.

Yeah the staff is looking into it for you. You'll be place in a pool appropriately.
