Well I suppose I can sign up for this. I didn't want to really get involved in any character threads till I settled on my main but I guess my main's been sitting in front of me all along haha. I'll have some Wii U videos around soon once I get good enough to feel halfway decent about posting one. I'm kind of scrub right now. :p

Some Pit FG action in my new series:
One thing I keep seeing you do is use your jumps, fall, then use his Uspecial. Instead you should either A: Use it before you use all your jumps, as it's the fastest way to the edge when there's any significant distance, or B: Aim into the side of the stage so you don't fly past instead. Works on any stage besides either version of Lylat and the training room.

And then there's a little way to trick an opponent unfamiliar with Pit. Try spining around before firing the shot. Most Glory players react to Pit's movement instead of the projectile itself, meaning an easy 4%.

I definitely understand not being able to focus on Pit's arrows to use them right though, as I had a ton of trouble with that early on in both Brawl and 4 here.

Other then that, your angels are coming along nicely. And I'm a pretty good blue Pit if you see one on the replay channel. :bee:

Very true w/ the up b use, Saving the jumps is always important.

I also had a phase where I did the charge spinning trick a lot, but I haven't used it as much lately.

Loving the pits though, feel they're great at punishing landings and I love the surprise and armor you get with upperdash arm.

Some Robin action, but some Pit too for good measure. +Commentary and all that jazz. Let me know what you think of the series so far by posting a comment on the video, and share with your friends! I'm on a mission to grow the Smash scene.

Hope you enjoy, thanks for watching.

You having issues with jumping Uairs isn't your controller. You're actually doing jump cancelled Usmashes. You either need to not press up all the way or switch your C-stick to tilts, which is what I recommend.

Oh, and reflected air shooter shots are aimed back down towards Megaman.

It is my controller :p I've been playing with both wavebirds and normal wired controllers and this would happen with me even in Brawl. I just input jump+up on the cstick very quickly. There are a couple of other inputs that the wavebird will fudge. That's what I get for living in a dense apartment complex haha. It's not a big deal, I play around it.

I love c-stick set to tilts, great control scheme. I switched back to smashes so I could do some easier quality-of-life running upsmashes, and I'm too used to doing tilts with the control stick -- even with cstick set to tilts I never used it to perform tilts :p So I went back to what I've been using for years.

Thanks for the tip though :) Great smashboards etiquette

hey guys. I just wanted to get some feedback on how I'm handling Pit in these two videos and if there's anything that could use some improvement. Though I don't main Pit by any means, I would still like to learn to use him efficently, especially to help another Pit player out.

This playlist is both against :4myfriends: and has 1 win and 1 loss, with both matches being relatively close.

Thanks in advance guys

Brand new Pit Player here, looking for feedback on how I should handle him better next time and how I handle him now (for a beginner). I don't exactly main him, but I'm trying most of the characters in the roster to see which ones I like best and I'd still like to be sufficient enough with Pit too at least win every now and then.

I play like a complete idiot in these videos since I'm not too familiar with playing him. If you're seeking entertainment, you're not gonna find anything epic here.

Well, assuming the lag wasn't that bad in the Link video, you should work on your spacing first. Just practice a whole bunch and get a good feel, yaknow? You should probably get a better understanding of the character before digging deep.

And you should probably grab more for Dthrow combos. When the combos stop working, use Uthrows and shoot arrows.

I played Pit a lot in the 3ds version (3ds of a roomate at university), and now I'm playing with him in Wii U, but playing with Sheik a bit more.

If you want to add me to play Pit dittos, I would be glad.

:4pit:Playing against A :4robinm: main. Any useful tips, advice or criticism would be helpful (for me AND the Robin too if you feel like it :p). None of the matches are really long just 1-2mins. I'm not the best Pit player but still, hope you enjoy!

Match 1 (This is where i find out Pit has a shield breaker just before he accidentally SD)

Match 2 (Just a good match)

Match 3 (:4robinm:does absolutely terrible here, he loses two stock after giving 15% before SDing again (not that it mattered, he was in kill range anyway)

Match 4 (Just a good match)

@ ReRaze ReRaze :

When your landing, don't always go for an aerial, as you make yourself look very predictable. Every time you landed an aerial as you were falling, Robin as able to shield grab you (for the most part). Mix up your landings by simply falling, then go for a dash grab, as your opponent will put up their shield.

With the Dthrow combos, your better off doing the most damage possible, as Pit has trouble killing, anyways. Instead, try doing a dthrow to upsmash. It maybe harder to do on a 3DS, since you don't have the C-stick, but you'll get the most percentage on your opponent if you do that.

Try to be more strategic on your approaches. For example, you went relentlessly with those dash attacks. It may work on a lower-level opponents, but it won't work on Mid-Top level players. By using dash attacks, your opponent will pick up on it and you can get shield grabbed from doing that. I recommend you run up to your opponent, jump backwards and do either a retreating fair, or do an empty short hop. Against side dodgers, pivot grabs are your best friend, as it has more range than a dash grab, and can punish your opponent pretty hard.

Don't overuse on the side B so much. I know it's one of those moves were its a very hard habit to break, due to how quick and how much knock back it has, but its very punishable. Use it only when your opponent is at very high percentage and you know that your opponent is going to roll. A good trick to use with that move is run past them and do a pivot upper dash arm. That throws a lot of players as they tend to side dodge or roll to avoid getting hit, where the move will hit them anyways. ;)

Very good use of the ftilts, especially on how you used it as a edgeguarding tool. I usually use that when I know my opponent is going to approach me, and it tells them to back off when they try to approach. Use them sparingly, as your opponent will try to find an opening through that ending lag the ftilt has.

I noticed when you were returning back on stage, you using fairs before grabbing the ledge. If the opponent is right above you, shoot an arrow to cover yourself, then go for the ledge. Once your on the ledge, try mixing it up to really catch your opponent offguard. My favorite one is using the rising dair to prevent my opponent from trying to hit me when they are below me.

For edgeguarding tricks. Nair is a really good tool to use when you notice your opponent is going to jump over the ledge.

That ending there was pretty cool on match 4 when you did a double d-air spike. Most Robin players play more defensively, so you were pretty fortunate to pull off that combo on him. ;)

Yo may I get a little help too? I know i should improve my spacing, but I've been playing Pit a bit more lately and I'd like a little more advice than just that. I can't get new videos right now and I'm still hunting down the Pit Amiibo, so I thought it'd be worth waiting by getting some game advice until I find one.:bluejump:

Easing into Dark Pit once again. I originally played in during the 3DS release but decided to leave him alone. Now he feels way better to me. I need to work on edge guarding a lot more. Pretty sure Dark Pit can punish Ness for recovering but I haven't quite mastered the offstage game. Any tips to help me improve would be great.

If possible I would like some feedback on what to improve. There's a lot of material here since I was playing on my stream and the matches are all on one video. The mic audio is a bit annoying sorry about that, I recommend turning the volume down.

For some reasons, Pit was my second choice and up until now I'm satisfied with what I can pull out with him.
Sooo, I will try to be an active contributor with some video and stuff. Thanks !
