angling the ftilt?

I read somewhere that you can angle samus' ftilt up or down

I know that you can do this with a few other characters (lucario, mario, etc...) but I have never been able to figure out how.

It seems like it ought to be simple enough, alas I can't get it to work. Do you filt forward, tap a, then choose your angle OR do you just angle it up/down right of the bat OR is it some crazy combination of buttons that I cannot even begin to fathom?

A bit of help would be greatly appreciated

No, to use an angled tilt, you simply need to have the control stick tilted towards the direction you want to character to do their ftilt. For example, having the control stick tilted North East will cause a character to do a ftilt upward, and doing one South East will make it go downward. It you tilt the control stick to far up or down though, it will change it to either a utilt or dtilt though, so you've got to be careful how far the control stick is tilted.

Indeed, plus, they're just a tad bit faster than her normal ftilt, which can help link to other attacks.

gracias -- I just picked him up yesterday and im having fun figuring him out. His moves flow well into eachother and he has a dymamite recovery. I main olimar and second rob, but I thought it would be fun to pick up someone currently on the lower end of the tier list. He seems like hes got a lot going for him, although im having trouble with the really small and/or fast characters (falcon is actually giving me trouble). Anyway, sorry for the rambling and thanks again for the help

It's 10% if Samus angles her tilt up or down. If forward, it's 7%. Samus deals 8% damage if her opponent is hit with her thigh. Check out my Samus guide. Angled tilts also have increased knock-back.

LOL! Captain Falcon. Everyone has to love Captain Falcon. I still think its crazy that hes low tier. Sure his priority and recovery are low, but that Knee of Justice pwns everyone. No exceptions.
