Am I the only one who's not interested in SSE?

I didn't look at any of the SSE videos at E For All, and when they are updates I am very disappointed, sometimes I don't watch them. It's most likely going to be very short and a one or two day thing. Does anyone else agree with me?

I find the SSE to be a welcome addition to smash bros that will expand its experience and replay value. I love a good story, and I's even enjoy a rather simple narritive. But this mode seems to be turning into much more. However it goes I think that I will be pleased with the end result.

You are not alone. =\

In fact, I am not really hyped for this game right now. I still have Melee I love playing and I need to play all the games I have wanted to play, but have not got the chance to do. I am going to love playing it when it gets near, but not really now. Also, the SSE is especially not interesting now. When I do get more interested in Brawl, it will be the multiplayer. . . not the single player.

Why don't you like the Subspace Emissary updates? Why don't you watch the videos? Brawl is going to be like a real adventure game this time around, I bet once you get it you'll love it. Your just saying that for attention, and you've got it.

Oath, please say what you just said in English.

Anyway, I enjoy the idea of the SSE, I couldn't help but feel that adventure mode in SSBM was thrown in at the last second just to add a new Single-Player mode.

Can anyone translate what Oath said? I don't speak internet.

Oh, and yes, I do see where you are coming from. But I'm still excited for a more well thought out adventure mode.

Hypnotist you know that this is estimated at about 10 hours long for the SSE adventure mode right?

by the way you know when it comes down to it, it wouldn't hurt to have a solid single player mode to switch it up every now and then.
10 hours isn't solid, 10 hours is a one or two day thing. And actually most people are expecting way less than 10 hours, like 5.

Roughly translated: "I only want the game for the multiplayer." I'd say that's close enough

Thank you all for the translation.

Only for the multiplayer? That's easy to understand. The reason why I want brawl is because, well, Super Smash Bros is a great series and with this game it looks like I could just ignore all my other Wii games and be set for the rest of the year. Plus it's a fighter that actually takes strategy rather then street fighter or SoulCaliber where you can button mash and win.

I'm not going to argue about what you consider "solid," but considering melee's was't even an hour, it is a step up for a multiplayer focused game.

That being said, if you only care about the multiplayer, why are you even posting about how you don't like the adventure mode?

I'm just saying for a game that is completely multiplayer focused, 5-10 hour adventure game is not that bad. Plus I don't play games for 10 hours straight or even 5 for that matter so i wouldn't agree with it being a 1-2 day thing.

I thinks it is a neat addition to Brawl and the cutscenes look pretty nice but I'm MUCH more interested in the multiplayer for this game. But I will admit it will be interesting to see how a 1 player mode will work out when it has some effort thrown in it.

I love multiplayer as much as the next guy. It's the overall reason to buy the game. But after a while a little change of pace is nice. And I've been waiting a long time for a fun, good looking, co-op, 2D side-scrolling adventure and well Little Big Planet doesn't have Smash Bros characters I love so much. So I think you're pretty much flyin' solo on this one Hypnotist.

well here is my way of looking at the SSE single player:
if you can only start with so-so character and take so-so path, then 10 hours isnt long, but if you add in thre factor of multiple paths, character choices, and what not, then you can have a very long play time and deep single player.

X characters times Y path options times 10 hours per single run through= alot of play time from JUST the single player.

I really wouldn't get your hopes up with 10 hours, it's really going to be 5 max, if you look at the time frame prediction most people said 2-4.

I think it looks great. It'll be fun when you don't feel like multiplayer, and I love cutscenes and stuff

Bosses will be fun

Of course we're all going to get this game because of it's great multiplayer, but adding a great, new single player mode is a very welcome addition.

It will be a fun too, which is what I look for in videogames.

I'm all for SSE and its multiplayer option (co-op will be great!), but the amount of hype that I have for something like Wi-Fi is much greater in comparison. Simply put, Subspace will be nice to have in the game, but compared to the main bulk of the game, it feels like nothing more than an addition.

Fail thread is fail.
I remember when people didn't jump on others for liking diferent things.

I don't expect the single player to take too long, especially concidering the single player in Melee, but I do expect it to last a decent while, especially with multiple paths. I'm thining the paths would be something something similar to Starfox 64, or Meteos (which Sakurai also made btw)

I really wouldn't get your hopes up with 10 hours, it's really going to be 5 max, if you look at the time frame prediction most people said 2-4.
And how many work for Nintendo, specifically Sakurai? I haven't heard anything from any Nintendo source about how long Subspace will be, so don't believe a word of it.

SSE does not interest me either. It will probably be like the sidescrolling levels in Melee's Adventure mode and lot's of them. I think it will be more like a 1 hour thing and not a 1 week thing.

If it's longer than 24 hours I will be very upset.

If it's longer than 4 hours I'll be upset.

but 48? Come on.

It looks far better than Melee adventure mode, and thus it is a welcome addition. I hated adventure mode simply because it was extremely boring, just a series of awkward levels and fights that didn't even differ from classic mode.

If this actually has platforming aspects to it as it claims, I think I will enjoy it. But keep in mind Sakurai also exaggerates with some of the updates. All I can say for now is it has a story and looks interesting, so I am looking forward to it.
