Not sure if this is common knowledge or not, as I don't really follow the scene anymore and I never attend the Falcon boards, but I thought it might be worth mentioning in case it isn't.

I'm not too good at consistently using A, A, A, and when I used Z (I was told that most players use Z) I felt that I had to hold it down longer for some reason, and often ended up shielding. I can't remember if I found this out personally or whether I was told by someone, but my method is:

A, A, A, then immediately after the last A, hit Z. The Z should come as quickly as possible (at least that's how it works for me). To equate it to something, it's similar to the method/timing of a JC'd grab.

I'm not sure if the Z actually does anything, or if it just helps me time the last A better, or what, but using this method I enjoy about a 80% success rate in match. (100% in practice but who can't)

Like I said, I don't know if this is new or even valid, or if I'm just ********, so let me know.

omfg hate gentleman discussion
HATEEEEEEEEE

I'm sorry it's just we talk about it like every 6 days

But anywho
Every Gentleman method works
Literally

I do it A,A, A+Z and can usually dash out immediately.

All the ways work. The key points are:

You need the first 2 jabs to hit (your opponent or his shield) to cancel the 3rd hit quickly. So if you miss one or the other the only way to cancel the knee is to do it much slower.

Every variation works, it's just a matter of which one gives you the most consistent timing.

Don't be afraid to mix the timings on the jabs up a ton, learning different mixups (like jab + grab after conditioning them to expect 3 grabs, jab dash through dair from behind, etc.) and how slow and how fast you can do the jabs will help you in control overall.
It's about the amount of A inputs in a certain amount of time you do [Z counts as A]

Here's all the stuff about Gentleman we have collected on the Falcon Index thread

You don't understand

But afaik
That Z input is basically being masked by the A input
You're saying you're doing it "asap" which sounds to me like you're masking it under the A

Meaning
The Z input is entirely optional, and doesn't really do anything

But I may be wrong, that's just what I'm thinking.

All those links just take me to the main Smashboards page? I doing something wrong?

Hmm, that's interesting about Z. Actually now that I think about it, I think my finger probably still is on A when I hit Z. So are you saying in A+Z that Z does absolutely nothing?

Yeah you're right, that's weird.
Lemme see if I can fix it.

I'm not sure, I don't think Z does anything.
Because it's technically an A input

[L/R+A to be precise I assume]
So I don't think that pressing Z would really do anything lol
It's just another way to do things.

edit;
I think I had to copy them from the edit page of the index thread, because I just copied them off of the shown page
and that doesn't show everything about the link so it would send you to the main smashboards page

*Just looked up Shino Stall. Didn't even know that's what it was called.

On Topic: I'm fairly ure I remember a good Falcon player telling me he uses A+Z. I played a bit the other day and I did realize that I am pretty much hitting them both at the same time. I'm not hugely concerned with knowing the details, I'm just curious. I know what works for me, figured it might help some1 else...
