Because Melee is 7 years old, and most people have moved on to brawl. Melee tournaments are pretty much a thing of the past, you might as well just learn to like brawl.

Or you could just still play Melee, since it's still a great game even after 7 years. Also, isn't conforming bad if you don't like what you're conforming to? I hate Brawl myself, the only thing keeping me playing (and I really don't play) is Captain Falcon dittos.

Overall it was a great tournament, very well run. The Brawl tournament did go on a bit late though, but it had good rules and actual prizes so it was well worth it. Street Fighter, Tekken, and Guitar Hero got knocked out early, and Halo + Brawl ran to the end. Winner of Halo got 180 dollars, I'm now thinking of starting to play Halo...
