Is there any tournys coming up in the next few weeks/months in Anchorage? I know everyones talking about OC2 but I dont really want to do the bigger tournies until I start smashing with derek and Funk and others, I dont really think i'm good enough. So back to my original question, is there any tournys coming up in Anchorage?

Edit: Also, where do you live? Do you live near dimond at all? I live between dimond and Gladys Wood. Know where that is?

Wow...

Ricky came over today, and owned me \=
I thought I was mediocre at worst, but now I realize that I suck! His peach came and ripped my Pinkigi to shreds, then he played ICs and I used Pinkigi again... I got him down to 3 stock in the first match, and 1 stock in the IC match. Then we had a bowser ditto. He won, I went off the stage for suicides to much -_- The whole bowser ditto thing just consisted of mainly L-Cancel practice and attacking, and Twin ******. Then we had a Jiggly ditto, he won of course. Then he proceded to play Event Match 51, then 50, and got me a new record on 50, but couldnt beat my record on 51. 1:30:xx
Then we went to stadium HRC, and I felt like doing Roy and Ganon... I used NBA on Ganondorf, and got 1500+
On Roy, I couldnt beat my old record so bleh.
Target Test was next, he taught me a new Game & Watch technique, I call it spams of the upB. Then we tried Ganon, no luck. So after that we just came on smashboards. The End.

Edit: This was a cleverly duisguise bump?

oc2 predictions

Alaska/Hawaii>Japan in crew battle finals

Alaska/Hawaii will make the biggest upset after getting 28 stocked, having Japan forfeit because Captain Jack should actually be playing for europe

trust yourselves

Pretty fun times at the venue. We're being housed by Roger, a kirby player, but there are only 4 people here =( Well, 5, counting Roger. Alaska/Hawaii International Crews isn't happening, apparently; tenyear decided it was a no-go.

A few mistakes happened with our arrival, I won't go into detail except that I felt really bad about it beforehand and it was rubbed in excessively after I apologized profusely for something that wasn't really my fault(it would have taken too long to explain). Then my attempts to make amends were refused, but whatever. I still appreciate all they've done =/

But yeah. I suck now =/ Sort of. Was really bad at the start, now I can beat some players like Shu and Hoshino Kirby semi-inconsistently(only played one match with Jack so far, it was my first match and I played really horribly(even for being horrible =p), looking forward to playing him again) but I still have a ways to go before I'm back to where I was before I quit. I'm not posting the names of any American players I've beaten so as not to cause any drama =p

It works like this: In terms of general gameplay, I was pretty well off. However, like I've been saying, there's a lot of smaller, more specific situational things that I've lost/forgotten that are still very important in high-level matches, and I'm a little technically inconsistent. Heh, and I'm finding it hard to force myself to jump off the edge to edgeguard someone now, it seems too risky because I'm inconsistent with it now =p So it's kind of a lot of little things I've forgotten that add up to a big problem when I'm playing someone that really knows what they're doing. I need to push myself more when I get home. Complacency is the enemy of progress. Except for a few things, like certain movement patterns, it's not even about remembering per se, it's about retraining myself to do it all again.

Players NEW to me that I'm impressed with: King, HuGS, KoreanDJ, Shu, Hoshino Kirby, Cho... umm... that's about it. HuGS took out all 5 of M2K's Sheik's stock with Samus, in addition to 3 stock from another player that was before M2K and one stock of KoreanDJ's after.
There isn't anyone I think I really couldn't beat if I hadn't "quit." In other words I think I know how to beat everyone here; whether I can do it right now or not is a different matter =p

This is actually really depressing, I wish I never played WoW. But I'll keep going until I'm up with the best again, even if I can never prove that I really am to the community =(

Not looking forward to singles. Definitely considering going up to Washington after the tourney to hang out and get some good smash practice in. Hopefully some other non-Washingtonians will join me, i.e. Isai and Jordan.

DANIEL YOU SHOULD HAVE CAME, EVEN IF I REMEMBER EVERYTHING WHILE I'M DOWN HERE I NEED SOMEONE TO PRACTICE IT ALL ON

So overall, was doing pretty bad, still do fairly poor against the better players but can beat them, and things are looking up in terms of retraining myself. It's very difficult to get matches against good players, though, unlike the other tournaments I've been to(due to the housing situation); I could practice all the things I remember doing better if I could get a lot of good, consistent matches with a top player. But so far so good.

PS: We went two and out in teams.

btw i didnt realize this was lunaris until i saw this ******* emoticon '=/'

i really wanted to see the ownage of alaska/hawaii

who'd you team with? jordan?

I fail to believe that you beat a star-kirby

lol, i finally 'got' for the most part i think up airs, well not the really quick ones at the start vs. shiek, but the whole short hop to full jump

that whole drama, thing, that you mentioned above, does that have anything to do with saying how much you suck?

btw, first week of school wont be good for smash, still have work; past that im pretty sure i can do stuff on most days

how has the mantis samus done, paining im sure

mantis samus has yet to make an appearance. chances are, she will very shortly depending on whether or not I feel the need to cram practice other characters in preparation for a match.

my shiek is pretty terrible. you look at jack's sheik, you look at my sheik, you lol. i trained with her all day, though, and won all my pool matches except one which I lost to killaOR--but i won the first one against him, so that puts us at a draw. which means, since he will probably win all his other matches in his pool, that we'll have a tiebreaker tomorrow.

second match was horrible. i made a bunch of stupid mistakes(never would have made them before i quit) and suicided. for example, he was able to pull off the matt trick(wait for a character to run at you, cc/duck under the grab(if it comes) then jump and rest them) on me twice. considering how much experience i've had against that in the past(but not since i started playing again; matt used to do that stuff to me ALL the time), i played the match pretty bad.

third match, i was at 10% when he died. unfortunately we had to quit there as we were informed it was not a best of 3 match, and since he won once and i won once we were tied.

i figured i had the second match won when FD was chosen, too. but then suicide, matt trick(see earlier), matt trick, then a good kill or two.

we'll see what happens tomorrow for the tie breaker, i hope no one reading this takes it as **** talk =/ i've just seen and practiced against everything he did that caused me to lose the second match and am disappointed that i wasn't prepared for it.

but yeah. still doing well, i guess. just not perfect, like i NEED to be!

and no, the whole 'drama' thing has to do with the fact that american players read these boards, japanese dont, and americans(dunno about the japanese) get offended when anybody says 'i beat you', regardless of whether or not the speaker believes the victory means anything.

and yes, i teamed with jordan. i didn't want him to be without a teammate. we did win a match, though! just not the set.

HAHAHA DANIEL RECOGNIZE ME YET? I HAVENT USED "THE EMOTICON" THIS TIME, SO PROBABLY NOT LOL
****er

hard training when we get back, with all the top tier characters! and hopefully before that i can continue my tier whoring at washington with skypal.

Hey, this is Jordan
Well first of all the Hawaiians decided to cancel the Hawaii/Alaska team, but that was probably a good idea. Derek was doing really good in the 1v1's until he went up against 2 Falcos, and he can't play good against other good Falcos. But other than that he only lost a single match in the pools, he did really good.

For me I did really bad. I couldn't concentrate on what my opponent was doing or what I should be doing or anything, it made me feel helpless. I only managed to beat one person in the first pool. BUT! I had a good time with friendlies. I somehow managed to beat Derelink's Link with my Fox, that was one of my best matches. And I beat a few other random people, I don't know who they were.

I'll let Derek give you all the details because I don't feel like making a huge post or anything. But I think he did really good overall. He beat a lot of good players like Hugs and Blair and stuff.

no, not good ****... bad ****, someone here needs to pick up falco and a few other characters

i'm not used to dealing with the laser at all. i kept wasting my double jumps and getting grabbed. overall i wasn't playing very smart in those matches, i was pretty much convinced that i'd lose them from the start because i was up against falcos.

i'll tell you about it when i get home, i dont really feel like posting my thoughts here this time.

my combos used to be so much better... =(
