I know I know, It's early to bring this up, I mean before the release of Brawl, but I was wondering, do you think that there will be another Smash Bros. after this?

I guess it might depend on Brawl's success , but I bet Sakurai already has a choice in mind.
I have no idea what it would be though, what do you think?:confused::confused:

You are absolutely right, it is entirely to early to make a topic like this. It would be more appropriate to make a topic like this 3-5 years down the road.

I remember somewhere that said that this will indeed be "Sakurai's" last smash game.

Sakurai hates sequel after sequel games
so I think this is the last one

QFT before closure.

Edit: But I think they might make one or at MOST two more. But that is only based off the fact of how much of a money maker Smash is.

In a rare case that the games get even better when not under Sakuri's control, who knows, maybe even more. But I still find it doubtful.

It might aswell there be one, i mean, if brawl has an amazing success, which i think and hope it will, well maybe for the next generation there'll be one, or maybe they'll wait a long time, for example the took like 6 years to make brawl, so maybe they'll take another 6 or more XD, i really have no idea if there'll be another smash, but for now, i'll just play melee untill Brawl, then play lots of brawl, and yeah, too early for this thread.

What would it be called?

Super Smash Bros. Battle Royale?
Super Smash Bros. Duel?
Super Smash Bros. Skirmish?
Super Smash Bros. War?

It's up to Nintendo, not Sakurai. I, for one, bet that the next time we get a new console, ssb4 won't be far off.

I sure hope he doesn't consider this a 'sequel after sequel' series. There was only one smash bros per generation, about 5-6 years between each one. Although I can see Smash Bros becoming finished. That is to say, they've already put out all of the reasonable characters and modes anyone could ever want so to make a new one would be redundant. At that point they might make a compilation: Super Smash Bros All-Stars.

Brawl is looking pretty complete thus far, but it is way too early to tell. Most of us aren't even bored with Melee yet, I can only imagine how long it will take for Brawl to be fully explored and conquered.

Sakurai wont be in charge if another one is made. He said this was his last game. I'm afraid if someone else is in charge they might make the game worse or mediocre, so it's best left to be only done ending with a bang, rather then become known as that generic game on it's 8th title, Super Smash Bros Brawl XX!

I was thinking, Sakurai might be done with smash, but after it's release, what will Iwata want to do?
I mean i saw on a blog of his that Iwata announced Brawl before Sakurai even knew they were making another.

I doubt they'll make a new one. I don't think Nintendo would want anyone else other than Sakurai to lead the game. We wouldn't want Smash to become the new Sonic would we?

What are you worried about anyway the game will be fun for at least 3 years with what the game already provides, Stage Builder adds on another 5 years and lastly Wi-Fi adds on an infinate amount of keeping the game fresh.
