At least you can moon walk. I have been trying forever and can't get it at all.
do the (going left to right) half to the left then jam bottom right corner then full right maneuver. it takes less time than going full left then rolling it down and to the right.

The distance that you get from the moonwalk is a result of which frame since the starting dashing animation you were holding the opposite direction.

So faster=better, but not too fast.

Since the whole idea behind moonwalking is missing the center pivot on the stick. Try going just slightly lower than the horizontal line on the stick, that might help you speed em up.

It took me ages to get this right, and even when I started doing it consistently, I used to always shake my hands forward and get all jittery when I did one.

And now my hands don't even flinch at all. Just keep practicing. Sometimes using bunny ears in training mode helps, because once you go nearly half of FD you know you got it right.

someone told me it's possible to moonwalk with anyone, just not practical or really noticeable unless you are using the main moonwalkers....falcon m2 ylink etc...

lol with the bunny ears almost anyone can moonwalk.

It was possible with Fox when i tried. 0_0
Exactly, they make it easier to moonwalk. I'm just saying they help you get the motion of the analog stick right. If you suck at moonwalking, bunny ears are sort of like training wheels.

my best bet is watch the tutorial vid. the one where it shows the guys hands. next try goin to practice mode and use the bunny hood with a speed reduction (that makes it a hell of a lot easier with those settings). this will give you better idea of the hand motion, cuz to me thats the hardest part. now try turning off the handicaps. finally, dont stress it. it takes alot of practice. this is one of those cases where i have to be that guy who says "just keep practicing" cuz this time thats the only way out.

honestly it took me about 5 1/2 hours to get regular moonwalking down. and here an there i try to practice very long distant moonwalks. but dont be afraid to practice in battles. cuz practicing it in battles gives you a better understanding of how you will execute your moonwalk.

well i tried........

Well I can do small moon walks now, but only one way, and still inconsistantly. Which makes it useless still.

I used to only be able to do left to right, and it felt really weird moving my thumb the other way. Then I just did the brute force method and forced myself to do right to left repeatedly, and lo and behold it improved. But still, sometimes my left to right moonwalks are longer than the opposite direction. >.>

its just like anything in smash that requires practice. Not being able to do it to another side makes sense too, for me at first it was moonwalking left (since i am more partial to the right side in smash). We often play within what we are comfortable with... which is often your hand preference.
