so i have been practicing SHRL with a fastfall for the last 4 months or so..and still can't seem to get it..in matches all i use is a SHRL without fastfall..which means no suicides..no matter how much i try..i still seem to phantasm one out of every 20 or so lasers when doing the fastfall..while if i don't fastfall my reverse lasers there is little to no chance of death

is it really going to effect my game much if i can't laser backwards quite as quickly as other people? sigh..i can't figure out why my hands won't learn it..they just have to release the direction input for the turn around, laser, and then hit down...i think it's just my fingers don't always release the direction and instead try to go directly to down too slowly..so that it's at a 230 degree angle or something

sigh..

anyways, how necessary is a fastfall to your reverse lasers in game? i guess that's the question..someone convince me this is still worth training

Keep practicing, I didnt really use any techniqe when practicing mine but, do it by yourself and think about the fact that your letting go of the control stick before pressing b,

I wouldnt worry too much about it, even tho SHRL is really useful you, just because you cant do a certain technique doesnt mean you should give up. What i use to do, when i didnt really learn the sleight of hand for it, i just did a SHL, wavedash back, SHL again, wavedash back again, etc. Its not nearly as fast but it kind of does the purpose - 'wanna be shrl' i guess.

Knowing how to do all the laser techniques is one thing, but knowing WHEN to do them is much more important.

If you can wavedash perfectly you can do what ThePrime said and its still pretty fast if you can link your waveshines and do them perfectly; if you want to get good at though make sure you let go of the control stick though thats the big key.

I don't think you should give up entirely since it is in fact just a technique you haven't perfected yet. It should come in time with practice. Try to flick the control stick and make sure you don't press the direction you want to shoot and b at the same time.

its quite important imo and a technique you should keep practicing. falco cant always stay in close with certain characters, particularly ones with grab combos like marth and fox and cant just run away from characters like falcon, being able to fire a laser at your opponent while your moving in any direction increases your pressure by a good bit and pressure is one of falcos forte's.

Take a Break

When i first learned about Advanced tech, I tried my hardest trying to do a wavedashes. I practice for about few days and I couldn't do that many about 20 in a roll, so what I did is I took a break for about a month. When I start to play again my hand remembered the motion so then I could do it about 90%

Try to remember the motion of your hand when you do it correctly. Practice for a few days/weeks and try to keep on doing the same motion. Then take a break for a few day or even a month. Then try it again and see if your hand remember the motion. Once you get the motion down you should start to build up speed and learn more thing about it.

Motion goes with any tech

do it just about after your gonna hit the ground, not when your going up, like at the last moment, flick back and shoot, i dont know thats what i do...

its really usefull, it confuses your opponent cause no one really expects it..

This is definately a needed technique for high level play but if you r just playin with some "fairly good players"(no BS or Kens') then try doin it without fastfall
