as in..videos of my Snake >.> . RJ/RJE is my tag usually. It's what I use at local tournies and WiFi.

I recorded most of these today, but all I have is a camcorder so that's how I got them off my wii. With youtube's crappy resolution, they didn't turn out very smoothly...but I think it's watchable. Also they're all 3 mins or less, thats all the wii can record. Oh and some were draws but the wii won't record those so one of us had to SD (lame, I know, lol.) Overall I think they were gg's. I put in a few old ones because of some neat stuff.

Maybe I'll update this in the future. As of now, enjoy/comment/critique whatever you want.

Awe inspiring matches Rust. I can never get Nairs or Bairs to work like that.

Also, the Toon Link matches show a neat evolution in your game style.

Your snakes pretty ill. And ROB, TLink and Olimar are three characters I've been having trouble with so these vids help a ton! One thing i did notice about your play style is that you rarely use the mortar, except for the mortar slide. There were a lot of times in the first TLink match at battlefield where he was above you on platforms and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to shell him. Is there a reason that you didn't?

Great matches, I look forward to seeing more.

Thank you. You can pretty much use the bair like the old sex kicks in melee (the long duration nairs, i.e. luigi's, mario's, sheik's, jigg's) if you just time it right at the last second when your opponent doesn't expect it. Good stuff.

Well I don't really consider the mortar as a potential KO move unless they're very high, so I don't use it often, especially near the center of the stage. I'd rather just intercept with an aerial to knock them off, or prep the field the way I want it with nades/mines/c4. It's also a little tougher to land the mortar since they have more options to DI on-stage, and it would end up just causing damage depreciation that I don't need yet. I'd rather save it for mortar sliding where the mortar becomes a follow-up, or edgeguarding where my chance of landing it is greater since they've only got one way to go. I guess it's all personal preference, there's nothing wrong with using a mortar when someone is above you, it's safer in all aspects and isn't really punishable.

I guess I've just never really thought of the mortar as a KO move. I normally just spam it cause it's safe, and the knock backs normally solid enough to either get them off the stage, and IMO most importantly it's really annoying. Gives your opponent a lot less time to react and keeps them moving, hopefully towards mines and C4.

Loved the Fair spikes.

Red camo iz liek teh b3st evah .

Edit : and yeah, nice finish @2cnd Tlink vidz, but the advantage with tlink is that you can actually meteor him without getting hit before the hit lands, unlike a hell lot of characters like marth for instance, where you can allways wait untill you have grand children before you land one.

It's ok you're just a bit rusty
loool punny...

Interesting Snake rusty...seems like u got a decent balance of everything...though like mentioned, not so much mortars. Seems like you use bair a lot too, and pretty well (2nd match vs ROB i woulda never thought of bair-ing out of the super armor frames of up+b and it worked pretty niceley to buff your recovery). Actually i think there was a funny moment in that 2nd match where you chased him wit the nikita right back on stage haha.

And that last KO in match 2 vs toonlink was kinda sorta amazin. :chuckle:

Don't know if you have the time to detontate your C4 and then reuse it. (since your C4 is usually deployed by this point) If not, then what I see can be disregarded. But I noticed there are times when you could've used C4 to boost yourself back up to the stage when coming short of the ground.

nope, can't, too long. If it's allready deployed you're just going to die after droping it once you have detonated the first one.

Now contradictors might say 'nuhu not if you blow it and use it again while falling from above the stage' but hey, what would be the point in doing that anw :)

A bit rusty my *** lol. You have a fantastic Snake. One think i noticed you do a lot is his Bair. Especially in your edge-game. I think I should use that way more often than i usually do >.>. Very nice spikes as well. Hope to see more vids soon

wow i play snake at like 1/8 the speed you play him at. Not that I think either way is better. Playing slower allows me to be all snake like and plan my next move and is better for mind games. Id like to see how our 2 styles match up pm me if your interested in a match. I'll be on my A game cause im not a bit rusty but you certainly are.

hmm, i just watched ur 1st vid against olimar, and i find that ur a bit impatient with ur c4's, or rather, i dont like the use of dropping it and quickly dentonating it, especially against an olimar :S

i dont think u used jabs either, i saw that u missed a lot of grabs and such, jabs work wonders, especially for snake since u can combo it into a grab, dtilt, ftilt, etc.

and another thing, i think using nikitas while u and ur opponent are on the stage is a bad idea, i wouldnt even dare use it unless the opponent is either on the ledge or recovering.

and i realized u didnt use much usmashes, dont remember if u had the chance to use it often, but u should, its really good to implement it in ur game against basically everyone except falco lol. cause u kno, falco can reflector ur mortar missiles and it'll hurt u.

Well,um, thanks. My playstyle has changed a lot since I filmed these vids, but good critique never hurts.;)

Wow, incredible! Those matches are just fantastic!
My brother always plays with olimar and I have some problems against him. But man, that spike KO on Olimar was just amazing! I need to pratice a lot more to get used to Snake's spike.
Best matches I've ever seen.
