If what your saying is true then we can 100% confirm snake is not returning. Because, Sakurai himself said that the cast has already been decided pre development of the games. Unless, Sakurai decides to make a last minute decision.

I'm not working on that game so I don't know, but I don't think that's likely. Well, if Mr. Sakurai is watching this, please use Snake.

I'm interested in the Spot Pass "Receive Announcements" feature, if anything it at least indicates that we'll have patches of some form, otherwise I don't see what announcements they could make over the game itself.

For a game like Smash. I don't expect download play.

Download play would've spared extra players from having to purchase extra game copies. On the other hand, those who did Mario Kart 7's download play features were only allowed to use Shy Guy, so character restrictions would've occurred with Smash 3DS as well.

My dad got it for me So I wouldn't know. There's about 23k blocks used, I don't know how to check that and it dosent say exactly.

That's at the bottom of the brawl site.
Unless Nintendo bought out Earthbound from Shigesato Itoi/APE inc. that should still be there, especially with Mr. Saturn returning. maybe this isn't the final version of the box?

As others have mentioned, copyrights on the back of the box only list things that appear on the box art. Hence this does not deconfirm Ness/Lucas/Snake in any way.

I don't know how companies and their copyright stuff works. But didn't APE Inc. become Creatures Inc.? I still don't know why Brawl credited both though. A quick look at their wikipedia page shows me that outside of Earthbound, Creatures Inc just did a handful of spinoff Mario & Pokemon games (and PKMN Emerald).

Again though, I really don't know how these copyright things work.

i have an 8GB sd card and my only other game on it is pokemon... but that means combined with smash, half of my sd card is used up. wondering if maybe i should pick up a 32GB just to be safe. but then again what else would i possibly put on my SD...? i guess sapphire and potential monster hunter. ok, i'll pick up a bigger card even though i'll probably be fine.

I was saying the exact same thing to myself awhile ago. I feel like I should a get a 16gb or 32gb SD card so I can fit most of the stuff I'll download from eShop. But I think my 4GB SD Card will have enough space for Smash when I download it that midnight.

Its about 3 weeks and 4 days to 3DS JP release, unless it gets bumped to a later date, then its probably 2 weeks to completion at most, if it isn't already done.

I did think about getting this digitally, but after losing all my digital save data due to getting my 3DS repaired, I'll be picking up the physical copy (also, it takes about two-four hours to download 2 gigabytes, depending on the time of day and what other people are doing on the Internet.)
