A good secondary for Marth Mainers?

I've been playing Marth for a month or two now, after just picking the game up competitively. I know a lot of **** about him, and I consider myself pretty good with him(Although I know I could and want to be better), but I find some matchups are near impossible.

I got 4th at a tournament yesterday, and realized I might have actually gotten prize (ten bucks, hey at least it was 2/3 what I paid to get in XD) if I knew how to play a character other than Marth, too.

I've been meaning to pick up a secondary for a while now, so I figure why not now?

Are there any good alts for a Marth mainer for his bad matchups? I'm willing to try more than one if necessary

Mainly Snake and Meta Knight are my problems but I know more characters are bad for him, so If you could give me those two, cool, but I'm also looking for a more general alt, that I can use for a few matchups

I have zero desire to pick up such a cheap character, so I hope there are more choices XD

DK is your only choice to get a packaged deal against MK and Snake.

Besides that, Rob and Falco are considered to have an advantage against Marth, G&W deals with both handily, he also has a neutral against MK and Snake.

Though, Marth goes even with mk, you shouldn't really have an issue with this match-up.

G&W plays pretty similar to Marth and covers his bad matchups.

Falco and DK are good too against Snake/Meta but they get gimped by bad matchups more than G&W.

I picked up wolf, he's pretty cool, his multiple bairs feel like marth fairs to me

I'm a Marth mainer as well. I use R.O.B. as a secondary. But that's just me.

But if you have to have someone else, G&W, Falco and DK are good choices.

Falco can just CG to spike edgeguard against Snake, G&W can turn projectiles against their users and DK's just a power house.

I'm assuming you got your info from the match up chart. Toon link is not even with MK, MK is considered toon links hardest match by most of the toon link boards. (although I should be telling the maker of that thread)

anyways, its very improtant to know advantages and such of snake and metaknight. I considered that alot when I decided who I was maining/seconding.

many people at the toon link boards chose to second marth. I think this because the both have great DI and spacing is important to both of them. it might work vise versa, consider TL.

In the snake portion you're forgetting Kirby. Kirby is **** against snake.

herrrm...I use Olimar, mostly because if i'm tired of getting past long ranged things, such as snakes missles, and Link's projectiles, etc. then Olimar can just sacrifice pikmin with less hassle than Marth jumping and dodging around. It's also nice to use him just to have a break from Marth, they do have their differences.

Actually, Falco could be a good alt. I'm actually picking Marth as a secondarie, so yeah ^^

Falco is eve, with Snake, and has a slight advantage against MK.

But DK and DK are also good (I'm hesistating between Marth, DK and ROB btw )

i main DK....wayyyy before people though of him as a top tier counter Xp....
so i recommend him...or you can ICs and learn the alt grabbing timing....which i tried...its actually really funny to see your friends faces....(although i can only get up to like 3 grabs usually)

I switch of between Marth, Peach, Ice Climbers and Shiek.

IDK it seems if you have these 4 characters you can face off pretty well against any of the other characters.
