Fun smashfest JDM. Connor's Ganon was impressive but I still etched out a win. Peach is the best!

oh jkun, i only had time to watch one match, but ryoko seemed pretty good
Ryoko was around my 2006-2007 level when he was still an active player, and was still very good last time I played him in Melee.

this is my 949th post So i'm going to lay it out right here on this thread
First, I had no idea that I was going to play smash competitively because i didn't know about it (I was a KOF, CVS2, and Soul Calibur player at the time) Then during my first semster at Irvine Valley College, I ran into Derrick (aka DcMoney) who showed me crazy stuff with Marth/Fox (wavedashing L Canceling Etc.) then i tried to get into but i couldn't because i just couldn't. as soon as brawl was announced i thought "i should wait til Brawl comes out" as soon as it came out, I explore the smash community for a year meeting people Like Kira (a homie) aznforce, Psychomidget, and alot of other players. after playing brawl for nearly a year and going back and forth with Melee and Brawl, I realized brawls sucks cuz it's favor players that play gay/defensive so i'm like "**** brawl **** gay as ****kk"
Then Later around the march of 2009 i made up my mind to play Melee competitively so here I am
DcMoney - Thank for showing me this game and teaching me the basic. you are one of my goals of getting better: I want to work hard to beat you but at least be at your level (**** hard)
Kira - Ya homie, I guess working hard as **** and getting yelled at was good thing since i have some progress. thanks for the advice like waiting for people to spot dodge, wavelanding on stage etc. I'll try to be a better partner while i'm at it
Aznforce - for making the game more fun and I'm going to get good so i can **** you
Connor - always 949 in my heart even you are from 714
Psychomidget - for letting me coming over almost everyday the training really pay off so thank you.
Rei - for letting me come over and play
JDM - For having a smashfest and you are one of the reasons why i'm improving
Okami - Now i have a rival yay also an another why i want to get better =)

there are gonna be those players who you might not have heard of but are still hella good
i'll try and be more helpful in the future
and to answer your question 112, me, zhu and cornbeef are the only ones i know of who are active who are gonig to be going there, i'll be in norte, zhu and cornbeef i think are housing off campus, but there are millions in irvine, JDM is only like 5 min by car fro UCI, same with pyschomidget, there are lots of smashfest at JDM's so if you have a car you're in luck, if not hope people are nice and will drive you (which they normally will)
EDIT: there are a good amount who aren't active on the boards but i have played before who go to UCI, we wish they'd be more active

Yes, of course. Just check this thread and any tournament threads in the Pacific West forum to see if there are any smashfests or tourneys near you. We tend to get together once every 3 days or so to play friendlies at someone's house and have a tournament once every 2 or 3 weeks. Welcome to the community!

this mainly, he only randomly goes to like a tourny at JDM's or connor's because that's when we all drive and i offer/force a ride down his throat
