I played more of FF9 just now and I defeated the 2nd of the Black Waltz enemies.

The story is getting more interesting, but the pacing of the story is a bit slow in my opinion. Or, at least that's the vibe I'm getting anyway.

If there is one mechanic in this game that I don't like, it's that Limit Breaks are automatically used. I rather not activate Trance during a random enemy encounter; I rather use it against tougher enemies or against bosses.

I think that's supposed to be Rude, but he was never portrayed as being that 'dark' (is that the right terminology?) in any of the games or in the movie.

Should I use my Counter Attack Materia in the fight against Emerald Weapon? I'm worried it'll **** up my Mime commands (I'll get just a normal attack when I want to Mime Knights of the Round) Is it worth taking an extra 1111 damage from Aire Tam Storm?

Also for anyone still playing this game make sure to get the W-Item Materia on your trip through the Midgar sewers. The item duplication glitch is still in the game and it's essential for grinding on those Magic Pots that always ask for Elixirs. Really nice to have infinite items! :4cloud: :4yuffie: :4tifa: :4barret: :4cid: :4vincent: :4aerith:

This just came in the mail today, a keychain of the Buster Sword. It came out a lot better than I expected.

where do i get one of those
I got it on Amazon for a pretty cheap price of about $5. It took over a month to get here, however. I believe there are also different variations of the keychain, especially when the Buster Sword has looked different between games.

Very nice. I want one of those and one of Squalls GunBlade.
Thanks!
I searched on Amazon and you can get one for about $17.

But seriously, can anyone that has beaten Emerald Weapon help me out here?
Been a while since I've fought EW. Maxing out the party's stats with Guard Sources and Mind Sources will render many of Emerald Weapon's attacks, save Aire Tam and Emerald Beam, harmless. I'd also recommend using Hero Drinks to boost the party's stats mid-battle. An effective strategy that requires almost no Materia, involves excessive grinding or preparation, is to use Fury and Level 3 Limit Breaks. Have one character equipped with W-item, one equipped with Underwater, and all three equipped with HP Plus so that they have 9999 HP. By exploiting the W-Item glitch you should have a lot of Elixirs and Megalixirs ( probably spelled that wrong) at least 20 of each, and put them on the top of the inventory along with 12 Hero Drinks. All three characters should be in Fury status and have Level 3 Limits. Since Limits take priority, they will override the Eyes' attacks and hit first, likely killing a couple of Eyes before they can move. The Megalixir will heal, and you should use the third Limit. If any Eyes persist, wait for the second Emerald Beam and repeat, which should finish them before Aire Tam Storm hits, reverting Emerald to its previous phase. As long as you keep your party's HP maxed, Emerald Beam will always prompt Limit Breaks due to it being a gravity attack, the eyes will never get many turns, and Emerald will never kill anyone. The best Limits to use are Cloud's Metorain, Barrets Angermax, Tifa's moves up to Meteor strike.... and can't remember the rest off the top of my head lol

Sorry for the wall of text, there's a lot of ways you can go about beating EW.
Edit: ( note part of this strat I copypasta'd ) but hope it helps ya beat that ******!

well I've alpready done the massive grinding part(my chars are at level 93 with pretty much every useful Materia mastered) and I maxed out the party's Limit Breaks before the battle. I'm using lvl3 limits on Yuffie cuz it's better than All Creation, but lvl4 limits on everyone else. I'm not hat worried about he fight, especially considering it'll be EXTRMELY hard to kill me due to having a mastered Fianl Attack paried with mastered Pheonix materia, but my main concerns are which Materia I should use. Is 4x Cut worth it considering I'll be using Knights of the ROund essentially every turn on every char? Do I want Counter Attack? Or should I just go with my Support Materia, (HP PLUS, MP plus, Magic plus) and Mime (obviouly invcluding KOTR, Final Attack+Pheonix, aND Underwater on certian chars?

I'm trying to look for a counter pick for Pikachu. The MU may be in Clouds favor, but personally I just can't ****ing stand it. I am thinking of either picking up Yoshi or Peach. which one would be the best choice?

Yoshi. The big thing Pika has over Cloud is his ability to gimp him, same thing with Pika over Peach. That and also Peach is very hard to pick up and should be either mained or not played at all.

Due to Yoshi's double jump super armor, I don't see him every realistically getting gimped, even vs pikachu (and Yoshi is easy to play at a basic level).

Modding Smash 4 is a relatively new thing. Give it some time, and I'm sure plenty of models will be made. After awhile, there were literally thousands of good texture hacks for brawl.

Oh, no, I meant for FFVII haha. But it would be hype to see his Dissidia 012 model in smash

His Dissidia Model is pretty much in Smash as is, just some minor changes. Changing out the Buster Sword for Ultima Weapon would be hype though!

I want Kingdom Hearts Cloud though. That would be amazing when someone finally edits it. We just need Smash 4 to stop getting patches eventually.

It also asks the question on if attribute hacking can be done for Smash Wii U too. I know that you can modify the fighter attributes in Brawl.

Why yes, it can be. I've even started mess with them myself. It's pretty simple to be honest.

I just know that trying to extract Smash Wii U's files can be a problem, considering how much memory the ISO uses.

Obviously, I have not hacked my Wii U system, since I do utilize the Nintendo Network features that Miiverse and the Nintendo eShop uses.

I do it on 3DS. Despite this, I can still utilize the Nintendo Network features that use Miiverse and the Nintendo eShop. :p

To be fair, for a while, I did hack my 3DS system to modify my Smash 3DS equipment supply, but ever since the 3DS system updates have patched browserhax, I lost the only free exploit method that I could use.

I use Cakes, which allows me to load mods of Smash 4. I open it on Homebrew, which allows me to access the eShop without even opening the Home Menu. I can go to Miiverse just fine, even with the mods loaded. What's really cool though is that I can play with other people online as long as the have the same mod as I do.

I never even heard of the Cakes firmware until now. The only way I could access the Homebrew Launcher was with browserhax, but now, I can't use that exploit anymore; in other words, no more hacking until another free exploit is ever made.

A real shame. I recently made a .param file dedicated to you. Remember those weight and speed attributes you listed in those threads you created a while back? I changed the attributes of Peach, Rosalina, and Mewtwo from those and put them in a parameters file so I could try them out myself. I'd love it if you could have fun with it yourself too some time.

If I were to hack my Wii U, I would add one winged angel in midgar. That would be the first thing I would do. But I'm no hacker, I'm just a public speaker.

Pick :4gaw: or :4ness: for Pikachu tbh. Both have relatively low learning curves, but Ness is easier.
Thanks dawg.

So am I to understand that all attribute edits are made on a single file in Smash 3DS / Wii U? In Brawl, each fighter has his/her own individual file that contained his/her attributes; for an example, "FitMario.pac" for Mario.

Yup. Me and my brother have been doing it for quite some time.

Each character has their own param file, but I do all the attribute changes on a single param file that contains the values for all of their attributes.

How does one even edit the param files? BrawlBox can edit Brawl's .pac files, but I have not seen any convenient tools for viewing the files from Smash 3DS / Wii U.

I use Parameters.exe, as it's interface is simple to understand and easy to use overall. Extremely convenient if you ask me.

So, I've been wondering how do I properly DI out of Cloud's Cross Slash (Non Limit Break) I've seen people at top play DI right out of it at low percents. I know you can jump out of it at high percents but I would like to know the proper DI method. I don't fight many Cloud Players however I play the character myself alot.
