i've been hearin all sorts of talk about third party characters. Some people think its an awesome idea, while others think its not. So, does the inclusion of third part characters ruin the smash bros experience, or do u think its a way to expand the series and make it even better? I personally am happy they are includin 3rd party characters (when i saw snake for the first time, i was goin crazy:laugh:) post away and be sure to include reasons why

Personally, I think it's a great idea. It broadens the Smash Bros character roster with more popular character that even more people can enjoy, who aren't huge nintendo fans. And hey, the more characters that appeal to a larger audience, brings in more players. And more players, means more competitive people, am I right? :D

I really never did like the idea of third party characters being in the Super Smash Bros. series, and I still don't really like the idea.

I'll wait to play the game before I really judge it, though. I think my qualm against 3rd party characters is because of Sonic. Before Snake was announced I had a great argument going AGAINST Sonic's inclusion in Brawl, but now there's no good argument against him.

i agree. Hopefully, third party characters will want to make more people who never played a smash bros game play brawl

It is VERY good IMO. If it wasn't for Snake being in Brawl, Sonic's chances would still be ALOT slimmer then it is now. And don't forget Megaman as well is possible. I would of course bought the game even without the inclusion of 3rd parties, but Sakarui has a Win with Snake and some other 3rd party that is known in as well. I couldn't really picture Snake wildly shaking the Hammer. Yet my months after the game is realeased, it will all seem Normal. I'd love to play as a Giant Sonic after he has grabbed a Mushroom. (If of course he is in)

I don't like it, as I've said before. I think they don't belong, and it's just a chea fanservice to appease the fanboys who have vocally wanted Sonic to be in Smash Bros ever since they got burned by EGM's April Fool's Day joke. I'll still play the game and love it long time, but I don't like that they randomly threw in a few 3rd party characters. Like I said before, it's like if they had slipped Fred Flintstone and Bugs Bunny into the Simpsons Movie.

As long as the number of third-parties is always in a large minority to Nintendo characters, than it's an excellent, excellent idea. Smash allows some of the best characters around to take each other on, and now we get even more great characters to join in.

yea im not expectin too many 3rd parties either. I think it would ruin the game if they overused 3rd party characters. Knowin u have 1 or 2 guest characters is what makes it cool

Again, like I said before, why do you jump on people so much about using the search button? I dont think its a big deal if a similar thread was made like a month ago so someone decides to make another one. With your theory, we wouldnt have any new threads because everybody would just revived old ones. Its ok to get more information on something without reviving a thread that was made forever-ago.

On-Topic- I like 3rd party characters to an extent. I dont think more than four or five should be in brawl. I just dont think that every character that has ever made a game on any nintendo system should stand a chance in brawl. I just dont want any ridiculous charcters, is what I am trying to say.

As a Nintendo purist and longtime fan, I don't really like the idea of 3rd party characters... but apparently everyone else does. My issue is that added 3rd party characters might take space away from many obscure but deserving 1st party characters. For example, Lil Mac, Ray 01, and Captain Olimar would make great Smash Bros. characters, and i think they should have priority over 3rd party ones simply because of the fact that they are Nintendo characters. I think if there are 3rd party ones in Brawl, they'd better be **** synonomous with Nintendo consoles, or they don't deserve to be in there. This would be characters like megaman, and Simon Belmont, those who aren't Nintendo, but everybody immediately thinks of Nintendo when they are mentioned. Sonic I guess would be ok, since he's been around so long, and there is major history between him and Nintendo with the whole rivalry thing, for those actually old enough to remember the height of it...

Sora, or whatever other recently popular character you want to insert here, would be a dumb idea for Brawl, since they are neither representative of Nintendo, nor have been around long enough to deserve to have any notable history with Nintendo. That's an opinion I'd hold even if by some small-*** chance such a character is actually confirmed for Brawl.

In my opinion, I couldn't care either way, but Snake being in Brawl just seems so awesome to me. I'm not as big of a fan of Sonic as I used to be, but I'd be surprised if he's not in Brawl. Of course, Sega refusing to give permission would surprise me, considering they'd have to be stupid to pass an offer like Brawl up.

I would only allow two 3rd party characters max. It's a pure Nintendo fighting game, and if there is too many 3rd parties if would ruin the experience.

I say the more third party people the better. I think it'll be cool to see Nintendo characters fighting against Solid Snake and (possibly) Sonic. Hell, they need to throw Optimus Prime in too (I know its impossible, but you get the idea).

Its just cool to see characters you would never expect to see in the same game challenging each other.

As long as they're from 3rd parties who LIKES making games for Nintendo.

That's why I'm critical about Snake getting in. Komani still favors Sony.

I'm more or less lukewarm to a photorealistic human being (Snake) entering the fray. But at the same time it's good to have that precedent for the sake of more appropriate third party characters.
