With the $25 , you are really paying for entry into the EXPO, and with that entry fee, you will receive 1 free entry into a tournament of your choice.

I understand the prize money isn't the highest. However, we are working on bringing some very good competition to the event. I have spoke with PC Chris, Crow, Brian H, Justin Wong, Mojo, and more. Along with that, the venue itself is just amazing. , and brand new TVs and consoles.

Along with that, the expo itself will have raffles, promotional prizes and more. This is not a standard tournament. There will be many activities throughout the day. You can compete in the Wii Baseball tournament for free, and win promotional prizes as well.

I know everyone who comes out will have a great time. The event is going to be very fun and exciting.

I am glad players are interested. There will be many promotional and sponsored raffles and such.

We are looking to bring a *certain* top East Coast player to this tournament. Once he is confirmed, we will announce who it is.

We are very excited for this Anaheim event. The last smash tournament we ran in NC had 100 smashers exactly.

JC Media is doing exhausting every avenue possible to ensure every player who enters our tournament will have an experience of a lifetime.

MLG does not have smash anymore unfortunately. I know that smashers are still striving for that professional feel for an event. Attending this BUY.COM event will give you exactly that. We are interested in making gaming a success. Please support us in our mission.

I'll Also be coming to this event :)

Great !!!! We are hoping for a HUGE draw from Smash !!! We are going to have a good number of set-ups, guaranteed prize money that will be paid out the same day as the event, and many other activities going on at the BUY.COM LAN 2007 !!!!

However, we need more players to PRE-REG !!! You do not have to pay right now if you do not want to. Please take 2 minutes to PRE-REG !!! This helps us out. The sponsors want to see players PRE-REG.

128 person cap * $25 entry fee = $3200.

And all your giving away is $800.

I can't understand why you wouldn't make prizes based off of entry, cause looking at that number just about everyone is getting screwed.

Please keep in mind...

128 person cap * $25 entry fee = $3200.

$25 entry is what it costs to enter the event. JC Media does not receive any more from entry fee's whatsoever. When you pay to get into, you are granted 1 pass to enter 1 tournament of your choice.

Because this is not a 'standard tournament' your $25 gets you way more then something typical.

Buy.com LAN 2007 will have many free tournaments w/ sponsored prizes (Wii Baseball, Guitar Heroe 2) as well as being THE FIRST offline Championship Gaming Series offline qualifier

On top of that, there are also raffles and door prizes for anyone to win.

----

In essence this is a tournament that sponsors will be at who are interested in console gaming. We are doing a variety of games on many different days. We are trying to ensure a large turnout for each game, and that is why we are putting up the prize money out from the company. We see us putting up $8,000 in prize money is worth the investment if we can get these sponsors to bite. This means bigger prizes for the players.

We are hoping the sponsors will also add money into our upcoming tour called th 'Underground Gaming Series' , set to kick off this Memorial Day weekend in Memphis, TN.

I know it is easy to do the math, $25 x 128 ppl = X or whatever. It is not always that easy. This is not a community event. JC Media is not collecting entry fee's what so ever. We are trying to do something big for the community. Please support us in our mission.

From talking with everyone, it's looking like a 60-70 man tournament in the end, so I know everyone hasn't signed up yet.

For Pre-reg, this is pretty good, but I really hope to see about 16 more by this week. Sponsors are really stressing me out guys!! They want to see players PRE-REG. I know this isn't something you normally do, or see why it is important, so let me please explain.

1. It helps tournament organizers plan ahead. See who's coming, better promote it, and also, if everyone registers, we can have brackets ready. This allows a faster ran tournament, and more time for casuals.

2. With tournaments like this, Sponsors want to see who is interested. They do not check SmashBoards or go on IRC. They do not know WHO IS COMING, other than who has signed up on their site. So they get nervous. They are putting up a lot of time and money (as we are) so they want to ensure a good turnout.

So PLEASE PRE-REG !! You don't even have to pay.

See you all in about a week.

why waste $25 when kens going :p.

anyway, are you guys supplying the tv's? if so, how many? and are they HD or any tv that would cause lag on the game?

There will be no lag on any TVs. We are gamers as well, so we understand how everyone feels :)

We have 16 Tvs. Depending on how many smash players come (its looking like 50+) we will use as many as needed.

We want everyone to have a great time. See everyone there.

I won't be there, because, well, it's in Cali :p

However, I have spoken with JC Media (and company), and can say they at least know how to run a tourney. If said tourney were in my area, I would consider going :)

JC Media gets the royal stamp of approval. Enjoy all.

Peace.
