1. Should I bother coming back? Is it still fun, etc?

2. Any recommendations on how to re-train myself?

3. What are some current gameplay styles with wolf?

4. Can anyone post some good Wolf vids for me to watch?

I know this is very broad and opinionated thread, but I could use the help.

Thanks in advance.

Oh. PS
5. What ATs do I absolutely have to know for any character, or specifically for wolf, to be successful? I hate practicing ATs, so I'm trying to narrow it down :)
...You're familiar...

Wait. O_o Yeah, I remember you... I think? ._.

1: Well considering MLG's picking Brawl up... Let me put it this way.

:falcon: YES.

2: Well... I can't really recommend anything, but I've heard wi-fi and just plain tournaments help. Hone your speed and stringing skills in CPU matches, try out what you learn in a human match.

3: I'm not really sure on that- look around. :)

4: Can't help you. See above.

For vids and stuff, check out Germ and Lucien's recent matches. There should be some threads about them hanging around a page or two back.

It's as fun as you want it to be.

In-person tournaments, best way, hands down. That, or play friendlies in Northern Virginia (With Azen and all the other freakin' good EC people)
3. What are some current gameplay styles with wolf?
Whatever works well, that's Wolf's best style.
4. Can anyone post some good Wolf vids for me to watch?
Look up Germ, Omniswell, or Lucien.

1. If you want to play competitively, yes. There's good money in it.

It's fun for me, I don't know about you, though.

2. Brawl isn't a very technical oriented game. Find friends to practice with every week or two.

3. By watching videos can you effectively see what works and what should be avoided.

4. Go to the Brawl videos board > Tournament Videos > Crtl+F and search for "Axis" on the first or second page > Go into the thread > Click the second channel linked there

You'll find several videos of the Axis and B.I.O tournament with Lucien and Germ.

5. Reverse Aerial Rush and Boost Smash I'd say are the only things you should know.

That's good.

Let me warn you: playing computers and playing online (less so than computers, though) will make you WORSE at the game.

You can disagree with me if you want, but that's a solid fact.

While I agree with the playing computers part, those will WITHOUT A DOUBT, make you a worse player. However I'm kinda in disagreement with the online part.

Now, don't get me wrong, WiFi is ABSOLUTE crap, however, if you're playing smart people, then you're playing people who can adapt, people who punish your mistakes (Is that possible on WiFi?) or outsmart/outspace you. So, there is something to be gained from playing WiFi, however you must first acknowledge that:
WiFi is absolute crap.
What works in WiFi may not work in-person.
You have to play in-person to use anything gained via WiFi.
WiFi is absolute crap.
WiFi doesn't buff anyone, it nerfs everyone, just some more than others.
The timing on WiFi is absolutely screwed up.
As a result of the above, punishing becomes extremely hard.
WiFi is not a determiner of skill.
The above is ESPECIALLY true for people who live more than 100 miles from each other.
If you have the opportunity to play in-person against good players, then by all means, TAKE IT.
????
Profit
WiFi is absolute crap.

And also keep in mind that high level play happens in-person, not WiFi.

1. Should I bother coming back? Is it still fun, etc?
1.- I find it pretty fun, but it's really up to you.

2. Any recommendations on how to re-train myself?
Play IN PERSON, Wi-Fi is absolute crap for real training and computers just won't do.

3. What are some current gameplay styles with wolf?
Pretty much the same as when you left, but we all agree each one has his diferent style so whatever works for you.

4. Can anyone post some good Wolf vids for me to watch?
As said before GERM and Lucien posted some videos a couple of weeks ago.

5. What ATs do I absolutely have to know for any character, or specifically for wolf, to be successful? I hate practicing ATs, so I'm trying to narrow it down.
DACUS (or Boost Smashing), RAR, Auto cancelled Fair (in all it's forms: retreting, neutral and advancing, just for christ sake AC it <_<) and that's pretty much it, unless you think Wall of Wolf is an AT, which is not.

Hope that helps and welcome back:)
