From my experience, memes always seem to start with one simple sentence:The term Internet meme (pronounced /mi:m/, meem) is a phrase used to describe a catchphrase or concept that spreads quickly from person to person via the Internet, much like an esoteric inside joke.[1] The term is a reference to the concept of memes, although this concept refers to a much broader category of cultural information.

This blog is bad and you should feel bad.
From that point, it usually takes another person to comment on it:

150,000 times what Straked said.
Then another would comment on that comment, as a means of supporting the first sentence:

Straked... Sig this...
People begin noticing the first sentence, since they are eventually linked to where the sentence was posted through the sig quote.
Then one specific person with a huge sense of humor notices it, and comments the poster on how hilarious it was:

You seriously make me cry with laughter.
Then the poster and the commenter begin discussing that particular sentence. The commenter starts using the sentence and adapting it to certain circumstances:

Several days later, other people begin to use the sentence in their own way as well:

That was bad and you should feel bad.
Next, the first commenter is astonished that others began using it as well:

I'm surprised how widespread this is. This is the best meme Straked ever started.
But then, the commenter is scolded by a staff member for believing something so silly can be all that great, while supporting the meme himself:

It's a bad meme and you should feel bad for liking it... also for posting that horrible sig.
Even after said quote, people continue to use the sentence, because it is much too awesome to avoid doing:

This is a bad thread and you should feel bad for not locking it.
In other words, internet memes usually begin with something so simple and silly. This one in particular has yet to become popular, and I will die before I see it erased from cyber existence.
By the way, this blog is bad, but I don't feel bad.
