No, Portland is Oregon, just right next to Washington and people from WA shop there since there's no sales tax in Oregon.
In the east, yeah. WA has its share of desert out east too.
"If you dig geology (hurrrr pun), you'll love Oregon." That's how I think about it.
We have columnar basalts, lava tubes, volcanic throats, and other really cool stuff, like the deepest canyon and one of the deepest lakes.

That is definitely a vast over generalization. But that's okay, I'd actually prefer this common belief exist rather than it being known that Oregon's weather is secretly amazing and have even more of a flux of californians coming here by the jetta-full. :D
idk, I see what you're saying, but washington is probably more "lesbiany" in the context of your metaphor than portland. portland is made up mostly of white 20-something yuppies.

Portland Clackamas Gresham Hillsboro are all connected via MAX. If you live close to any of these places transportation should be easy.
