But yeah, I think Porky deserves a slot in the Smash roster as I think the Nintendo villain lineup isn't complete until he get's in.

Mr. Obvious is Ridley.

Actually I'm going to say bowser, hear me out in super Mario bros for the NES bowser turns toads into blocks, so technically you could be breaking toads when you break a block.

Doug Bowser probably King K. Rool. Killing innocents? That’s pretty dark. Eating innocents? Torturing them? That’s nothing compared to mass banana theft. Never steal another man’s bananas.

When you think about it, a lot of Nintendo's villains are blood thirsty murders even though most of us don't seem to think it that way since they're all from kids games mostly. But I like it when any cert of content like animation, video games or movies originally intended for kids tries to be realistic with certain aspects without being completely obvious about it. It makes you appreciate the lore of this stuff more as you get older as you will realize everything from your childhood wasn't exactly all sunshine and lollipops.

Ganon(dorf), without a doubt. He uses magic, is sometimes called a demon, and constantly is up to bad deeds. It does not help that he is referred to as the king of evil, which, by definition, is dark!

Plus, Ganondorf had his army of the dead kill off a lot of the citizens in Hyrule Castle Town in Ocarina of Time and the Redeads in the future were probably those Hylians that died there that wasn't lucky enough to escape to Kakariko Village. Plus, he controlled Zant in Twilight Princess and he killed Queen Rutela and probably committed mass genocide across all of Hyrule. Ganondorf is like the Adolf Hiter of Hyrule as he has a high body count on his record.

Indeed (though I am not familiar with Zelda stories, that adds depth). Having mentioned Ganondorf, I could be less certain about the order of the next names for a top ten list, but I think that Zant, Ridley, and Porky could easily be on a top ten (or possibly five) list.

Fun fact I forgot to mention: While not canon, in the Ocarina of Time manga when Ganondorf's minions are taking over Hyrule, Ganondorf mentioned that he put the King of Hyrule to sleep which is pretty dark. I bet that's what actually happened to him in the game even though we'll likely never find out.

Majora is another contender as he played Skull Kid like a fiddle and used him without him even knowing it. He lied to the Gerudo Pirates and told them there was a secret treasure in Great Bay Temple and told them Ruto's babies were the key to getting inside. He cursed the land of Ikaina Valley, brainwashed the Composer Brothers so that Ikaina wouldn't have water supply and that mummies would be running around. He killed a Goron hero and froze over Snowhead. He posioned the Swamp and framed the monkeys on the kidnapping of the Deku Princess. He tried to crash the Moon down into the Earth to kill everybody. Majora is literally like Satan.

Oh! And Majora also turned Kafei into a kid so Anju and him couldn't get married.

I have never seen Majora though (at least not to my recollection). Anyway, I am sure there are many Nintendo characters that do atrocious things, but it can be difficult to have an precise scale that determines objectively which ones are the most vile.

I mean, I would even argue that Majora even makes Ganondorf look like a saint as Ganondorf gave Ingo the Ranch after he took over Hyrule in Ocarina of Time. If you kneel to Ganondorf, he might show mercy. If you try to befriend Majora, not only will he backstab you, ruin your life and possibly kill you, but he will likely kill and destroy everything and everyone you love.

So in retrospect, Ganondorf is kind of like Frieza where he wants to rule everything while Majora is like Majin Buu who just wants to destroy all life without any real reason. The latter is true evil.
