I honestly thought Chopper was going to be just the obligatory cute animal on the main cast without anything else going for him. To be honest, I was kinda stupid for thinking that knowing the way characters are developed in One Piece

Oh I think I know who it is (Brook right?). If not then it could be Ace or Robin.
Also I should probably say this right now but... one of the first things I knew about One Piece prior to watching it was a... certain scene involving Ace (yep, that one).
