The act that's being protested against was ABSOLUTELY wrong, but there's no justification for setting buildings on fire or shattering windows. That is terrorism, no way around it.

Agreed with Wario. I have a friend in the Minneapolis police force and he’s a good guy with a family. As much as a worry about the safety of protestors and citizens, I also worry for the safety for officers like my friend.

They tried peaceful protest and got attacked with tear gas and rubber bullets.
Not to mention how Colin Kaepernick's career was destroyed for his peaceful protest.
Maybe a little more property damage will force the United States to meaningfully address police brutality in the future.
Look up Martin Luther King's writings on the white moderate.

Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom Unfortunately, having a friend in the police force is a meaningless anecdote in the bigger picture.
I do not mean to be sarcastic, but just yesterday, I heard the perfect sentence: "Won't someone PLEASE think of the police officers that only equipped with body armor, state issued firearms, and the legal authority to kill people they deem threatening?"
Compare that to the black experience in America.
Even if you believe in the 1350 bull****, know that black Americans and white Americans self admit to doing marijuana at the same rate, yet black Americans are FOUR TIMES more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession.
That's as apples to apples as it can get.
As it stands, blackness is seen as threatening in America, and the police violence against African Americans bears that out.

A protest is the demonstration of a constitutional right and should be encouraged. A riot is criminal and should be avoided as its damaging to personal fall safety, financial stability, and has a negative lasting impact to that community. That’s why, when the HK protests became violent (like setting people on fire), I turned away from supporting those individuals and instead focused on those pursuing more peaceful means. That property belongs to someone and most American-based riots don’t distinguish what’s “property that can be torched” and “property that can’t be torched”. It’s very hard times for home and business owners and I can’t imagine how destructive it would be to lose one (or both) to such violence. If it was me, I would protect my own interests with my life - even if I support their cause.

I mentioned my friend because I’m generally concerned about him and to also show that there are two sides of the coins.

Do you advocate killing or injuring police officers to further revolutionary causes? If so, that could just kill my friend. I can’t agree with that. As much as I don’t want to see protestors die, I don’t want to police officers die either.
