theres a gender divide in chess? why????

Okay, I think humanity has gone too far in terms of gender-related controversies...

I genuinely don't wanna be that guy but literally the only reasons for a trans ban are 1. They hate trans people and 2. They think women are stupider than men.

Im not gonna get into the football talk or whatever..i don't think a funny smash forum is the place For such a loaded topic. But a chess ban or any of the talk about esports bans are so stupid

I was actually discussing this with my mum earlier out of interest, and she proposed the idea that it might not necessarily be related to the "trans people in sports" debacle, but moreso the fact that men are massively overrepresented in terms of chess grandmasters compared to women (like, around 98%), so a seperate classification could potentially make it more approachable for women to get involved in the sport either? That said, neither of us know the full context behind it, it was just a thought that came up and might potentially make sense
