I mean this notion that smash is celebration of “gaming history” no one ever said that and if they had I doubt they would have said “only the most important parts”

Actually, in Byleth's presentation Sakurai said "it's Celebration of Gaming Historying time!" and Celebration of Gaming History'd all over the place.
