I get that and I wasn’t being 100% serious in the original post but also I feel like it’s fine to (within reason) direct some criticism at sakurai he may not have been fully responsible for when he’s all over the marketing, presentations and takes so much credit for the games existence at all.
And plus he’s the director, he could have easily interfered enough to make sure the online is a quality experience if he cares so much about lag

Correct me if I’m wrong, but he’s vented frustrations over the game’s online before himself.
That issue isn’t really on him, that’s on Nintendo’s spaghetti-code infrastructure. He and the team can only make do with what they’re given.
