The Project M scene has seen a great deal of meta advancement and even a balance patch (Project +) since the last official tier list over 4 years ago. This list, coordinated by Sabre and Motobug, is the first official tier list released for Project +.

The organizers for Riptide have released a statement on Twitter, announcing that the event will no longer feature Project+ following a cease and desist order from Nintendo. Riptide's staff currently plans to contact all attendees registered for P+ events with information on how to request a refund.

In light of the unique circumstances caused by the global pandemic, the PMRank team wants to spotlight players who were not showcased on PMRank 2019, and who had standout performances throughout the year.

On December 6th, Melee it On Me and Beyond the Summit announced 5 Days of Melee, a five-day stream event celebrating the Melee community and raising money for Direct Relief.

Shortly after The Big House’s cancellation, the hashtag #FreeMelee caught on. A few days later, an anonymous twitlonger was published and spawned massive outrage. As a result, #SaveSmash joined #FreeMelee as a popular hashtag. Why did this twitlonger spark such emotion? It alleges that Nintendo has been harming the Smash community.

Smash figureheads across the board have been declaring that Black lives matter, organizing charity tournaments, and holding fundraisers.
