it's just that everyone else in addition to the songwriter use loopholes to get songwriting credit along with the songwriter and thus get what would have been the songwriter's money

    it's pretty awful
    it's always been that way

I don't know why anyone would willingly become a songwriter though

artists and producers can make their money other ways

becoming a songwriter is like asking to not have a paycheck lol
dude, the music industry crumbling in the way it did, was entirely their own fault

I have no sympathy for them
They didn't understand the digital era AT ALL.

The second they saw Napster, they did everything they could to kill it. However, the ignored the signs that digital music was something people were interested in. And instead of just limiting themselves to trying to kill Napster, they also tried to do everything in their power to prevent digital from expanding. They could have easily taken a hold of digital when it was still young and then the industry would have great control over it. Sadly they took forever, fell way behind the curve, and allowed the current generation to get into the mindset of illegal downloading. So now normal downloading doesn't happen nearly as much as it should, despite all of the ease and incentives to do it now. Whereas with movies, etc... there isn't as big of an issue because those industries embraced it from the get-go.

They are actually doing some of the same mistakes [but not as blatantly ******** as last time] with the new streaming era that is coming into play. Not to mention they still haven't gotten over this being a singles market now instead of an albums market and they still treat albums as if they actually matter for all but like 10 artists.
for the higher ups [label execs, etc...] who make the money, it always will be

for the smaller people [like songwriters/artists/producers]; not that great

artists make most of their money off touring anyway

tbh the biggest lose was the many record stores and such closing down and those people losing their jobs

but that's the industries fault in itself

the music industry made sure to kill itself by going about handling the digital shift the wrong way, they still have barely got a grasp on it and a barely caught up
    D
I'm loving your hipster MK persona. Lol
cumulus is just the easiest to pick on out of the broadcasting groups because they have the most stations; so when they do it, it makes a bigger effect than when others do
Cumulus broadcasting actively put a boycott on her over label politics stuff lol

    it is 10/11, yep

oddly enough, Britney's label changed the add date of Criminal from 10/11 to 10/4 right after Katy's label put out their adds date

    they be scared lol
they finally gave TOTGA an adds date btw

they're following through with that choice
just a picture of a lotus with the earth in it by quasga. taken down since he put it up. i still have the full res picture if you want it.
LFN has been going down slowly actually

they will likely end the era at this point, it's been way too much of a delay between LFN's peak and now
still hasn't been sent for adds/confirmed by the label

the airplay now just shows it's not a #1, which I didn't expect it to be [unless they make a remix with Bruno Mars using the following lyrics:]

    [collapse=]Perry:
Summer after high school when we first met
We make out in your Mustang to Radiohead
And on my 18th birthday we got matching tattoos

Used to steal your parents' liquor and climb to the roof
Talk about our future like we had a clue
Never planned that one day I'd be losing you

    In another life
    I would be your girl
    We'd keep all our promises
    Be us against the world
    In another life
    I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were
    The one that got away
    The one that got away

    Mars:
I was dreaming I was your Johnny Cash
My June, you were my other, we made our pact
Everytime that I miss you, I put those records on, whoa
Sometimes I wanna get this tattoo removed
Catch me downtown singing the blues
I don't want to face the music, don't wanna hear the news

    Perry:
    In another life
    I would be your girl
    We'd keep all our promises
    Be us against the world
    In another life
    I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were
    The one that got away
    The one that got away

    The woah-woah-woah-one

    Mars:
    The woah-woah-woah-one

    Perry:
    The woah-woah-woah-one

All this money can't buy me a time machine, no

    Mars:
I should've got you that diamond ring, no

    Both:
I should've told you what you meant to me, whoa
'Cause now I pay the price

    Perry (Mars):
    In another life
I would be your girl (I would be your man)
    We keep all our promises
Be us against the world (Against the world)
    And in another life
I would make you stay (How I should have stayed)
So I don't have to say you were
The one that got away (The one that got away)
    The one that got away

    Both:
    The woah-woah-woah-one
    The woah-woah-woah-one
    The woah-woah-woah-one
    The woah-woah-woah-one

    In another life
    I would make you stay
So I don't have to say you were
    The one that got away
    The one that got away[/collapse]
my preference since the CD was released:
    1. CG
    2. TD
    3. FW
    4. ET
    5. LFN
    6. TOTGA
    7. P
    8. HH
well audience impressions is the measurement in millions of how many people (overlapping allowed) are exposed to a song via radio each week

so 0.118 = 118,000 people heard the song on radio during the week

    pretty lame

#1 songs usually get ~130 to ~160 AI

callout scores are the feedback scores that radio gets back after playing stuff
    AI is 0.118

pathetic since billboard jumped on the rumour last week

it also isn't even in the iTunes top 1,000

Peacock went #1 on Hot Club Dance Airplay; so radio already knows it's a safe track to play [there is an edit that removes the repeat after the 1st peacock each time]
lots of weird stuff because some of the team wants the era over, katy herself wants HH, radio wants Peacock, and the top execs threw out the rumour to billboard of ToTGA to see if any stations would jump on without an adds date or confirmation

    etc...
It may or may not happen actually.

Lots of weird stuff going on with her label atm
=futurama, big -family guys(i just don't know why I hate that show so much), =charmed, =fairly legal, +how I met your mother, +big bang theory, BIG +house
