Our discussion on the LEGO Movie 2 got me thinking... Everyone seems to think the twist villain was really bad and uncalled for, but besides the arguments against that I brought up, he also represents the boy’s inner struggle with himself, which is quite interesting. It seems they weren’t just going for a twist villain because they could.
