Yeah he was too good. I remember this one time Bengals had made a thread about this funny KO on Japes, and everyone's like "awesome" "****" "pwnage" and Aura walks in and says "Am I the only one who think this is stupid?" lol. Everyone who liked it shut up about it after that.

Aura left for good after the whole tier list thing, just before the move to AiB. Dude.was.amazing. Omg, he'd shut down anyone in an argument in ways only he could do, lol.

ZSS is my secondary (hence my sig and avatar), but she and Link are the only people I play.

Lol, that was, quite literally, all of Arkive's doing. Those boards pretty much belong to Arkive, and always have. To be honest, I would have been hesitant to move if it were anyone else but him who said we were moving. But when I read

"move your (insert censor-dodged curse) son, we're tired of dealin wit SWFs TL admins" I promptly did so lol. He's just.....I dunno what it is, but no one disrespects him and everyone listens to him.

Lol, the AiB boards are pathetic. The old Link boards there were pathetic too. What you see at AiB - the activity, the threads, the stickies, the guides, it was all from SWF. That's basically what the old gen of the SWF Link boards looked like. That's why the AiB Link boards look legit - it's all from SWF.

Lol well, the Link boards are very welcoming if you don't post stupid stuff (i.e. Link can slide usmash!).

Discussing SWF...it doesn't happen to often on the boards. Occasionally someone asks why we moved, and we briefly discuss it, but other than that, it doesn't come up too often. Where did you see it being discussed?

Oh xD. Yeah, I just learned prominent players of most of the characters over time, and when I visited because of matchup discussions, I'd check out the boards and stuff.

Those experiences also made me realize how legit the Link boards are. Like, the Link boards are ridiculously organized. There honestly needs to be a reeeeally good reason to make a new thread, lol.

I bet it's insanely difficult, lol. But it's probably easier if you know the community that you're assigned to mod. I remember I was once recommended for mod here, and now I'm being recommended over there to co-mod with Deva, lol. If I don't get it, it's no biggie xD.

The best mods I've met/seen with regards to relationships with their boards have to be the Zeldas, ZSSs, and ROBs. Kataefi, Dazwa, and Sudai (respectively) are all just awesome guys, and they're loved by their communities, from what I've seen. Of course, I haven't seen all of the communities, but those 3 were the most notable ones from my memory.

Right, I know. SuSa gets no blame from me - we knew him before he was mod, he was one of us, however shortly. But like, Buzz came out of nowhere. Like a sniper. O_o

We did have a "ghost mod" for a while. Basically, when a spam thread rose, and you clicked the report button and whatnot, it was closed. But the mod who closed it never revealed himself. So we were like.....we're being modded by a ghost mod? Sweet lol. We loved that, and it worked great for about a month or so. Then we met Buzz, and it went downhill. We think the ghost mod was Youko, we had a pretty strong hunch it was him.

I suppose that's one way to look at it. Basically, I want it closed out of spite, I'll flat out admit it. We weren't allowed to have it when we were going through our dilemma (blu link had a Fantastic General Discussion on SWF too, it was closed), but now that we're gone, it's allowed. Like......... ._.

AiB has a new rule system, basically they added an infract system. But Deva's really pleased with the way we run the boards, he said just keep everything the way it is and all will be good.

At the time, we did ask (several times, in forum disputes, the way we were told to do so) and suggested for a compromise of some sort in order to get the thread back, but all we received were denials.

I agree it got crazy hectic afterwards. The main reason being, at the time, Link's metagame wasn't going anywhere any time fast. Anyone who started a new matchup thread failed to update it past the fifth matchup. We needed SOMETHING to do, so the most active thread was just that, the tier list. A bonus was that it encouraged Links to do better, to get out to more tourneys, to open up opportunities for something that may be involved in his metagame. That's why its closing caused such an uproar.

The no mod thing - eh, well you have a point about the flaming. It's just that what happened was when the game was first released, many, many spam threads about Link's DAC and bomb DAC and clawshotting and other "NEW AT DISCOVERIES!" were made. In the beginning, people were patient about it and told them it was known. But it's like a younger sibling who keeps asking you "why?" - eventually, you get annoyed. That's what happened with the Link boards; with no mod to close the threads, the Links did the best they could to add all info to the stickies, and when the stickies weren't being read before new users posted, the Links got annoyed, hence the flaming.

General threads were allowed for a time, but they were about the character itself, not about anything. For the "about anything," the answer given by the mods was "make a social group." And hardly anyone ever checks those - they're not as fun. The tier list never got one complaint, regardless of it's contents being about members. Ganon boards have theirs back, FYI.

I still stick around to basically help point any new Link main who's serious about picking up Link in the right direction, to where his metagame is, and where he can improve the fastest and find the most accurate information.

As for gaying ourselves, excuse us for doing perfectly fine with no mod whatsoever and then suddenly having our entire system changed for the worse, followed by a negligence to our requests and suggestions by the admins.

Eh, they almost are, they're hanging by a thread (no pun intended). I wish they were flat out dead, no activity at all. Its just so annoying to see stuff that we left for is slowly being allowed now that we're gone. Its like SWF is spitting in our faces.

I honestly hate the SWF Link boards. The admins gayed us so hard.

Eh, people like me will always be around to direct anyone who's serious about Link lol. Your foundation is already there, it's the only remnant of our community; NintenJoe's gigantic guide. Besides that, the Link boards look like ruins, to be honest. As if some great civilization thrived there once, and now it's just literal ruins. We ARE legends, and I'm not sure if that's meant to be a pun or not.

And no, I hate MK. With a passion. So I tend to avoid MK users in general.

Yeah, no prob. That's basically why we left, our community was falling apart because any and everything we posted got infracted (someone got banned for saying "this is unfair" word for word, I won't say names though), so we weren't sure on what we could post and what we couldn't.

And although those would indeed be the criteria for coming back, there's also the fact that some people just don't want to. Some people were just too turned off by SWF's behavior, and now hate the site as a whole. Everything they could offer here to get us to come back, we have at AiB. We see no reason to come back.

And yeah, it was a thread about members, but it didn't receive one complaint and actually helped the metagame. That's why the Links were so ticked when Queen Killjoy (an admin) said it was ok for that "New Gen of Links" thread to stay open so long. She said "it encourages discussion." The reaction was somewhat like this:

And, their reason for closing our thread wasn't even legit. Yeah, yeah, it was against the rules. I have a list of 30 other threads on other boards that I could name that involve threads about specific people, and they were never closed.

The rules of SWF are biased - basically, the more famous you are, the more you can get away with stuff. That's a quote from SuSa in chat. If the SWF rules were enforced properly, Ninjalink would have been banned a long time ago. Heck, even Hylian makes threads about people. But we're not allowed, noooo, because......we're Link ._.

What kind of person? Well, firstly one who knows the community. One who is chill and isn't super strict about every little thing, one who doesn't threaten infractions just because someone posts something off topic, one who understands what a joke is and what an insult is, one who understands what threads need to stay open even if they're against the rules if it's for the greater good.

The admins will partly be explained in the story. But for now, take a look at some Buzz quotes:

They hate the Link mains, and since they know Link will never be tourney viable, they couldn't care less whether or not the Link mains are happy. If this thing happened to the Snake boards or MK boards and they'd be kissing up to them in no time.

The admins couldn't care less about Link. You saw what Buzz posted a while back about us. And why not? You'd be welcome over there, guaranteed. We're a friendly bunch ^_^

Well, we pretty much revamped the AiB Link boards - they're essentially the old SWF boards. We brought over EVERYTHING - the rules, the stickies, the members, the whole 9 yards. We were all SWF goers at one point, remember. We're not the regular AiBers who have metagames from last May, like all the other AiB boards.


Umm, yeah they'd mind. A lot lol. Even though it's like free advertising, it'd stimulate discussion on the SWF Link boards, which is a big no no. I can't even state how much some of them hate this place - I'm considered a "mild" dislike compared to them.

But they did get gayed, hard. I know a guy who was banned.....while he was banned. Like, while he was under normal ban, they decided to increase his ban to a super ban, restricting him from everything possible, even his PM box. Another I know got shut out from the Link boards entirely - every time he signs on and goes to the character discussion page, it says "Link boards - private." Plus they refused for god knows how long to give us a real mod (no SuSa is not a Link main mod), so that adds to the fire. They'd get majorly ticked.

But yeah, if it's just your original impression of back how they used to be, then I definitely suggest coming on over and giving it another shot. A LOT has changed since then, we made that place explode.

It was Arkive's idea, though it had been building over time.

So might I ask you....why don't you come to AiB more often? Even if only to lurk? I mean, you've acknowledged we have more info, better understanding, and you're even linking threads back on our boards now XD (spike thread).
