The good characters have safe, dangerous moves that start and end about as quickly as a spotdodge, and spotdodges are just barely long enough to react to when you're already close by. As a result, you either put yourself in range to get destroyed by what the good characters are known for, or you don't get there fast enough to punish it. Spotdodge make you invinicible faster than most characters' Jabs come out, and the animation of most attacks lasts longer than most spotdodges, so just randomly spotdodging here and there can cause people to whiff moves and get punished badly for trying an otherwise-safe pressure option. It is made worse by the fact that getting caught up in punishing spotdodges makes the act of spotdodging a mix-up by itself. Will Snake tilt/grab after a spotdodge, or will he just mindlessly spotdodge a second time?

Its use is thereby most effective in luck-based combat that happens to be incredibly skewed toward the spotdodging opponent. If the game didn't have the second half of the current number of spotdodge invulnerability frames but kept the overall animation frames as it is, it would be much less likely to "accidentally" or thoughtlessly avoid attacks, it would be fine as a tool rewarding you for anticipating attacks well, but, it's just a mess in its current state.

I can elaborate further if that seems unacceptable or difficult to follow.

Also, join us in our discussion about Wario vs. Zamus! http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=319826

oh btw, case all goes well and we meet at kennedy, where in kennedy should we meet/what do you looke like etc.?
    Specific information, okay.

    1. I only surveyed people about their character's abilities on that stage. Some mains were very hopeful of it's return, such as Wolf and Pit mains.
    2. Camping potential. Hazards are a non-issue, people do have an issue with how well characters can avoid combat, such as Wario, MK, Pit, TL, Yoshi, etc.
    3. The characters that I don't know much about. Pokemon Trainer and Lucario were pretty surprising. I think what was most surprising was the final result of the survey itself, instead of the results from each character.
    4. Before 2012. I want to get this in the Experimental Ruleset phase of the URC.

These questions are motivating me to start this up again, thanks for that! :)
I went on a stand still on that project due to IRL things, but I wasn't that far from completing it. I was holding off on it due to URC things, but I'm also not in a rush to put it out yet because I want to get things "just right" before I release it. I'm not gonna abandon it since I put so much work on it, so you don't have to worry about that. If you want specific information though, just ask.

And nope, no sneak peeks for anyone! :bee::bee::bee:
