    Nah the thread was deleted because the admin at the time wanted to make a point about not letting the place descend into argument.

    It wasn't actually me that caused the deletion, I just woke up the next morning to see the social thread gone and I was all :(

    Anarchism would never work, people form hierarchies and societal codes and structures. Some form of governing would end up getting a foothold and so essentially if there's any sense of structure or order, it's not anarchy.

    Also people will be stupid because they are, by and large, idiots. That's the price of freedom though, and while we may not like things certain other people do or say, if it isn't directly having a negative impact it shouldn't be interfered with. Also a government that has lots of power and can give you everything can also take everything away. Just as we know people can be real pieces of work, what makes you think that changes when people get into politics?

    ****, if government is that powerful, it encourages the whole politics for power/status and not for civil SERVICE, which is what politicians are supposed to be, servants not rulers. Give people like that power to dictate our lives, even though they could choose not to and use their powers for our benefit, and take a wild guess at what would happen.

    Society is very strongly self governing in a lot of ways, we are social animals and we have developed that characteristic, we don't need such strong overt government control, it has historically pretty much always led to unrest and revolt.

    Also it's funny that Falcon calls me a conservative, I actively feel uncomfortable with that label because how almost everyone around me uses it as if it's a dirty word, sort of like how a lot of Americans use liberal as a dirty word.

    Kinda ****ing sad really.

    I think the term fiscal conservatism is kinda *** backwards though, imo it's fiscal liberalism dammit, the freedom to make money and not have the government try to control and dictate.

    The terminology and correlation of beliefs is so *** backwards it's not even funny.

    Well the problem is that the more vocal right wing guys are waaaaaaay far right to the point where a large part of the population has forgotten sane conservatives do exist. Being conservative doesn't have to mean you're a crazed racist/homophobe who believes the rich can do no wrong.

    I mean, that's what me and Teran are but I'm sure there are exceptions!

    I generally avoid most political threads on SWF but this particular one just kinda made me lol. Then cry. Then cut myself.

    What's great is how someone claimed in the thread that "facts are facts" or something like that yet not too long afterwards people are arguing over what different data means and all that other ****.

    Go ahead and google "Candy Crowley Wrong" and tell me how long it takes you find multiple valid sources that call her out on ****ty "fact checking" because she's a joke. Also fat.

    So she's a fat joke. Kinda like the notion that Obama didn't greatly misinform the American public. Which was Romney's point, which was 100% true but oh derp the word "act of terror" were used so let's all pretend we were never lied to and there's no scandal! Fact checking!

    Or you can continue to oversimplify my point, if you need a simplified version it's this: She was a **** moderator and to imply we need more fact checking and using her terrible ******** **** as an example is pathetic.

    I don't know I just haven't seen my personal life as particularly interesting for like the past year or so.

    Yeah I used to write lots of blogs, and won most of the time my blogs won the award LOL.

    But heh, guess I haven't had as much to blog about, and the community has changed a bit, don't know if I really want to go into personal stories with the people currently around. Don't just wanna write blogs for the sake of blogging.

    And yeah, modding does keep me in line, which is fine I guess, I like the site and am happy to maintain any semblance of quality on it. I have to make a couple sacrifices sure but hey not being able to be as big a **** as I am is only a minor price to pay.

    Well there was no mod before Jam Stunna, and for a while when he was mod it was really quite a good place, but then he took leave then resigned and before I got modded it was a total **** den.

    I mean to be fair though, it's not because I wasn't a mod that it was bad, it was because I was such a terror when not shackled by the reins of professional conduct. I got modded cos Teran = UB, well in 2009 anyway.

    Yesss. I kind of rage quit last time I played it, forget what level it was but I was doing 9.0 on it. Was a part where you're fighting Tempura wizard and there's an Orne too. I beat the wizard and then ran right into the ****ing Orne, first time I ever did that. Turned it off right there and shut the DS, lol.

    Tough Call

    I'd like to say that ideally, our brand of the Derp is centered around being ourselves and having the conversation flow naturally as it would if we were holding a conversation in the same room.

    Its not so important that we are messing around, more that its our nature to approach thing casually. I think ideas bloom much more frequently when everyone is more comfortable and less reserved. I hear that it makes you uncomfortable, but I can't help how you feel. Though I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from in that its counterproductive to deny someone of their comfort on the basis that they are not. Vicious cycle.
