With me, actually. Same story, though I haven't beaten it yet. Really, I was so immersed with just playing as Melee characters in the new setting that I didn't care about the new ones (yet).

I intend to experiment with all of them, myself. I think Wiimote w/ Nunchuck is going to be pretty hardcore, myself. But I think almost everyone, especially pro's, will be defaulting to the GC controller for a good long time before we start figuring out if one is "superior".

4 stock, 8 minutes, Hyrule Temple. Me as Link, friend as Ike. I'm semi-pro at Melee, while he was casual at it. He had played Brawl for about 10 hours before we fought. I won! But it was a fairly close match...I spent a lot of time just freaking out about the game itself.

Honestly, for the past 4 years I was hoping the game would be called "Chaos". The mere fact I was wrong on that has hindered my ability to enjoy the name "Brawl". Another factor is that the new name seems to lack the finesse of "Melee".

I really just said that because I have been pwned by way too many Falco's. Not only that, but while my Fox is really awesome, my Falco just...argh. I can't use him. So yeah, he probably should be luigi'fied. I admit it.

True, but FD Link isn't some major huge icon or part of the story. He's a side quest extra. All of the characters in Melee were very well known (though only in Japan for some...) but FD Link isn't plastered all over Zelda game covers and the star of a half dozen games. Casual Zelda fans...

I don't expect to see Marth or Roy in Brawl. I would love to see Lyndis, Hector and (maybe) Eliwood, but I suspect the FE roster will be characters from Path or Radiance or the upcoming title.

What's wrong with having to unlock Melee and 3rd Party Characters? Learning the game is tied into going through all of that hassle. I look forward to the journey of exploring and unlocking the many wonders Brawl has waiting for me, even if it's just old characters.
