It was incredible.

Part of me likes the freedom that the untold backstory of the show gives the writers, because they can just make up all the crazy villains and locations and magic they want. So I kind of hope they never tell us too much. But every time they give us a little more insight into the Mushroom Wars and the effects it had on the characters, it makes the whole show feel a little deeper.

I had noticed before that Marceline and the Ice King had never really interacted in an episode together, and I was wondering if they were going to do anything special with it if they ever did get around to it, since they kind of did with Marceline and Bubblegum (which I would love to see developed further as well).

It's made especially touching since we've already gotten a decent amount of backstory on the Ice King, so we already knew . It was already a really tragic story, but seeing it woven together with Marceline's is really interesting.

This show, man.
