Some things about the moveset:

Weight: Despite being obvious, it should probably be mentioned that, while heavy, the Doc is also highly floaty.
Grabs: Kawashima Should have a tether grab making use of his unattached hands.
Down Throw: Needs to clarify, no damage from the move itself but still damage from any hits after. Should possibly mention yoshi eggs as a point of reference.
N-Spec: Brain Age Test: Is this Mewtwo style "Confusion" or?

And another topic:
Does anyone feel like making me a (preferably Devil) Kawashima Kirby avatar?

Yeah basically, Brain Test is basically Mewtwo's Confusion. I think it could use more depth. :p
Basically Down Throw works like Yoshi's Tongue Move. Traps the opponent in a cup.
Also that being highly floaty should be something that Dr. Kawashima gets at Level 1. When he gets to Level 5 he is no longer floaty. :p
Hmm.. I think would be cool to have Kawashima have a tether, sorta OP IMO.
Ooh I might make Kawashima avatar for ya soon. :bee:

Less floaty as he gains in power? Interesting. He'd still have to be a little floaty at LV5 I thing, just because of what he is but I could see that working.

If you're worried about tethered ledge grabbing, consider this: Kawashima's hands have little connection to his body. As such, they could, quite reasonably, pull him to the ledge slower than any other tether, giving plenty of time to KO him out of it. As a character grab, well, if Link and Yoshi aren't grab dependant beasts then he's fine.

As for Brain Test, I agree wholeheartedly but, as a Kirby main, I do like to see a previously unused neutral special.

Perhaps his "tether" could be a bit shorter on range on each level gained (but faster to execute) so it all balances out.
How do you suppose Brain Test should work? Or should we give Kawashima a new special?

Perhaps like disable but longer, with the move escapable if a random series of inputs (displayed on the affected character), probably 3 in length, are executed without fail. Seems on theme but I don't know any of the specific puzzles from Kawashima's games so I don't know for sure that it fits.

Maybe with the Brain Test, you have to press certain buttons to escape the Brain Test, like on LVL 1, you only have to press one button on the D-Pad to escape the Brain Test, pressing the wrong button will give the opponent 1% of damage. And on LVL. 5, the Brain Test requires you to press 5 buttons in order to escape the Brain Test. I could see that working.
Perhaps you can customize which buttons the opponent has to press, it would be sorta (sorta) like a charge move, when you start using the move, Dr. Kawashima will be immobile, and you must press one direction on the d-pad to make the charge. Then when you release it to the opponent, he will have to follow the exact same directions you pressed earlier.

Thought I'd share something with you guys.
I was looking through the Brawl Dojo when I came across something that caught my eye on the All-Star page...
"When they’re all lined up like this, it becomes obvious that there is roughly 6-year blank before and after Pikmin. While there have been big series since then like 'Animal Crossing,' 'Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day,' and 'Wii Sports' it does seem that coming up with a completely new character-driven series has gotten more difficult recently."
Take it as you may, but it's just something I thought was interesting.

Yeah, that quote has come up in the context of Smash 4 before since it almost outright says that the flow of potential newcomers is on the wane and either we'll be seeing smaller roster increases or the characters added are liable to become more obscure and/or less current.
It's interesting and the direct mention of Brain Training as one of the few new first party character-centric series' sure adds a certain weight to this topic.

I'm not sure, but I'm thinking Sakurai wants to get characters from era of Melee to Brawl's release.
Perhaps he'll grab characters from the previous era to the previous era.
I think Dr. Kawashima may have a big chance now.

He needs to have a cellphone taunt like in the 3DS Puzzle. I would troll with such a taunt all day long. :awesome:

I was actually going to get that 3DS Puzzle Swap, if I ever run into any Streetpass users.
Though I watched a video of it. It was actually really hilarious, but I wonder if he takes Puzzle Swap pictures into account when it comes to movesets.
Watching that video again, those are the perfect 3 taunts he could have. :awesome:
I think I'll add it to the OP.

Alternative suggestion for the taunt setup:

U-Taunt: Curious Chin.
S-Taunt: Speed Dial
D-Taunt: Glasses Tweak.
Any Taunt in Demon Form: Malicious Fingers.

This gets in all four and removes the problem of one taunt forcing a mode change.

New Kirby avatar added :awesome::

We have two out of three already but is two enough to represent the period or would Sakurai rather a full house?

An interesting tidbit, we shall have to wait and see what it might mean.

Were you referring to the Miis or the Wii Fit Trainer when it came to 2 out of 3?
From the context of the All Star page, it does not seem to refer to Wii Fit, as Sakurai probably didn't even know about Wii Fit coming out in 2007.

Wii Fit, Wii Sports, what's the difference? I got mixed up there, sorry.

The avatar isn't what I requested (I asked for horns) but I'd say your design is better and, without those white lines, it'd probably be perfect. Changing now.

Oh, I agree, Kirby wouldn't level. It would, however, look a little odd if he swallowed Devil Kawashima and became my new avatar. Likewise for if he swallowed level one Kawashima and turned into a little blobby devil. The "regular Kawashima with horns" look was to be a compromise that would fit any level of Kawashima swallowed.

Now if only Kawashima had a quote like "My body is ready" and "I just feel like a Purple Pikmin" to convince people to want Kawashima. :troll:

Just gonna bring this here to prevent wars.
You're 100% right. Even if you have a Mii that is supossed to be you, he is not you because:

1) You aren't a game character

2) Normal person do not have floating hands without arms.

Makes me wonder why Saturn is still not getting that Kawashima is not a floating hand with hands in real life. :smirk:

He definitely is on the rise.
How do you suppose Kawashima's victory theme will go?
I think the victory theme should be of the ending of the second part of the Brain Age music in SSBB.
I'm unfortunately not the best music descriptor. If only I knew how to properly say it.

So I was checking out a Gamefaqs thread about Kawashima, so far lots of people want the floating head, with 21 votes so far.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/633202-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u/67982494

The other thread (Which I made), oddly enough, has 1/4 of the people saying he has a chance.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/633202-super-smash-bros-for-wii-u/67982208?results=1#1

Not many people are against the Kawashima, being a real life person is a bare saying also, unlike Smashboards.
Well, I mean...
It's GameFAQS.

It is of a general survey, expect many of the public to decide without logic.
I'm rather surprised they don't say he's a real life person, unlike the "too big" people, maybe it's because most of the members don't know of Brain Age.

Now that Nintendog is deconfirmed, that only leaves Dr. Kawashima with the possible axe.
I'd probably will be bummed if gets to be an AT, it will forever be ironic that Dr. Kawashima is not playable but yet Wii Fit Trainer is. ;-;

Not really. I mean, Wii Fit is more popular than Brain Age, right?

Honestly, the most I really expect is a stage with Kawashima controlling problems which are stage hazards.

It sure is if I had to admit by 20 million units, if I seriously have to wait till Brain Age is at the same level as Wii Fit. ;-;
I honestly think Dr. Kawashima would be a great way to represent the DS era, but Animal Crossing sorta did that already.

Dr. Kawashima is in no way a necessary addition in my eyes. He'd be cool, and it's something Sakurai might do, but I don't expect him.

Yeah you're probably right on that. He is something so diverse from the cast though, in my eyes he would be a fantastic addition to the roster, bringing the same positive reception Wii Fit Trainer had. Though if it was just only Wii Fit Trainer for the sake of surprising everyone, I guess wouldn't mind.

He'd be a very interesting character, sure...but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Though, Wii Fit Trainer was added in for two reasons. First was the shock factor. Second was because Sakurai thought that the Wii Fit Trainer was the best character to use for a "dancing" moveset.

A dancing moveset? I don't quite remember Sakurai saying that.
I would also say the importance of the series to Nintendo also that led to the inclusion of her too.
I believe it was in the Developer direct, but I'm not sure. I know he said as much, though. (I know Chronobound mentioned in his Wario analysis that that may have inadvertently deconfirmed Jimmy T..)
