I hate stealth rock. It made some awesome pokemon useless. It would be better if it wasn't available to as many pokemon

See, I think SR isn't Charizard's only issue, considering how Pokemon like Volcarona still perform incredibly well despite their 4x weakness to it. Charizard needs some buffs, honesty.

I noticed that my wishlist is (unintentionally) split into two halves; one for realistic characters and the other for unrealistic characters (I have twenty characters I want to see in the next game).

Yeah, I tend to shy away from giving full-on support to unrealistic characters just because I don't like getting my hopes up. I do however make an exception for Banjo, because of that whole, y'know, favorite character ever thing.

mine would be Theodore Rosevelt

if one of you can give me the gist of this article, I'd appreciate it

http://www.techtudo.com.br/jogos/no...neral-zod-e-batgirl-sao-possiveis-extras.html
Like Kuma said, that's written in Portuguese, which I understand perfectly, since, well, I am Portuguese.

Anyway, that article is basically stating that more characters for Injustice: Gods Among Us were found on the game's files. Besides Lobo, they found General Zod, Batgirl and Scorpion (the Mortal Kombat character) in the files.

The article states that those findings are not confirmed since all that was found were those characters' names on the game's files, meaning that the developers haven't officially announced those characters as future DLC.

The article's title translates exactly to "Injustice: Gods Among Us: Scorpion, General Zod and Batgirl are possible extras."

I approach unrealistic characters the same way. I want characters like Geno, Lip, Deoxys, Slime, etc, but it's not worth me putting a ton of effort towards their inclusion. I mainly put forth effort towards characters I want to see in the next Smash that I feel have a real chance of getting in.

Well, the music can change the entire mood of anything. Suddenly the serious becomes comical, while the mundane becomes epic.
This thread should have coded music like 4chan does sometimes. It's be hilarious.

actually a fire emble game could be cool without the conventional fire/wind/lighting wheel, maybe they could do a water/earth/wind wheel

by the way, is anybody fluent in spanish
Native speaker here buddy, what ya want?

EDIT: read the rest of the thread. Yeah, that was portuguese. Protip, the extention at the end tells you the country of origin.

Spanish links will usually be .es and .mx
.br is Brazil
.jp Japan
.ch China

etc...

Also, for the Pokemon discussion, Bess Pokeman comin through:

Lucina won't replace Marth. Ever.
But they can co-exist, though Roy is probably a bigger priority, along with Ike and probably Chrom. I'd say her competition is mainly Lyn, Micaiah, and Tactitcian.

K.Rool is a bit irrelevent , honestly, but IMO, that does not hurt his chances at all. If anything, I kinda think it raises them, but what do I know?

[was going to post this in that "how will new games in series affect SSB4" thread, but since I was the last post I don't want to double dip. Too long to edit into my last post as it is long already, and too much formatting for me to delete. So, I'm posting it here.]

As far as the content breakdown for the series go; I think it will be mostly along the same lines as Brawl: stages and music.

More significant releases like Super Mario Galaxy will probably have a corresponding stage while titles like Kirby Mass Attack will probably be shooting for music tracks at most.

Super Mario:

- Super Mario Galaxy and the New Super Mario titles are given for stages. Picking out a NSMB stage is tricky as it could end up being the framework for a Bowser's Castle or New Mushroom Kingdom type stage. My bets? Starship Mario and New Mushroom Kingdom.

- I think we'll probably see Rainbow Road succeed Mario Circuit in the next game in the same vein as MushroomyKingdom I and II. Design will prbably be a hodgepodge between Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart U.

- This is more of a gamble on my part, but since there are now quite a bit of titles behind the Mario RPG genre I think Sakurai may just end up selecting a stage to tie the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series together. Think how Mario Circuit was a pseudo Mario sports stage. A Paper Mario with some M&L tracks make sense.

- Luigi's Mansion will probably be succeeded by a new Luigi's Mansion stage from Dark Moon. Clock Tower would be fun.

Yoshi:

- It's funny how the one series I ragged on for not having an entry in its series all of a sudden has not onlyone but twotitles on the way. Not really sure what Sakurai will do with this one. A Yoshi Yarn stage could easily be Yoshi's Story 2.0; yet a Yoshi's Island 3DS stage would be redundant if Yoshi's Island (Brawl) returns. Then again, this is the same man that put Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2 in Brawl. Who knows. No one says we can't have two Yoshi stages. Alternate stages for different system's games?

WarioWare:

- My hope? Diamond City as a whacked out WarioWare version of Saffron City. Reality? WarioWare II.

- Wario Land Shake It will probably be reduced to trophy and musical content as the Wario Land series continues to get shafted.

Donkey Kong:

- There really isn't much to say since Donkey Kong Country Returns is obviously going to be where Sakurai pulls a new stage from. Sunset Shores or bust. The silhouette mechanic is too perfect a gimmick to separate the stage from all of the others without any crazy gameplay altering.

Legend of Zelda:

- Wind Waker's remake on the Wii U probably secures Pirate Ship as a lock for a returning stage in the next game bar Sakurai's general unpredictability. Wouldn't be surprised if a Spirit's Track tune winds up on Pirate Ship just so as to tie the Toon Link motif together.

- Hyrule Castle might just make a reappearance. Whether it's outside of the castle or inside, a castle stage could probably tie Ocarina of Time 3DS and A Link to the Past II together nicely since both games have -- or will likely have in the case of ALttP2 -- Hyrule Castle present. Who knows, maybe the stage will borrow design tips from the Zelda Wii U tech demo.

- Skyward Sword will definitely have a stage. While Skyloft seems like the obvious choice, don't count out the Sealed Grounds or Lanayru Desert.

Metroid:

- Other M is guaranteed a stage. And as depressing as the game itself, ten bucks say it will be the Geothermal Power Plant stage; which can also be seen in Dead or Alive: Dimensions.

- Even though it would be a little late to the party, I still think another Metroid Prime stage is not out of the picture. Metroid Prime 3 was released shortly after Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy made enough of a splash to keep the series in the picture. Skytown Elysia would be wonderful, but knowing Sakurai and his agoraphobic tendencies with Metroid stages it would probably end up being Phaaze, or Samus' Space Ship.

- For those of you not in the know about the unannounced Metroid title thing. Here. And here.

Kid Icarus:

- Hmm... A lot of places Sakurai could pick from. Whether he picks something specific or does some kind of amalgamation like with Skyworld, it will obviously be influenced by this game. Underworld remains a popular option, but Palutena's Temple remains a very viable option. More fitting if Palutena is in fact playable.

Ice Climbers:

- No idea what Sakurai will do here. Maybe make The Summit a little larger? Otherwise, I really don't care.

Gyromite:

- Sakurai could always surprise us with the Nintendo console stage idea that gets tossed around every once in awhile. More likely he'll just tie R.O.B to some generic Nintendo representative stage like WuHu Island orNintendo Land.

Kirby:

- Kirby will probably, and deservedly, wind up with an Epic Yarn and Return to Dreamland stage. String platforms are just too creative an idea for Sakurai to pass up on, and with Green Greens likely on the way out a Cookie Country type stage can carry on the traditional Kirby legacy.

Pikmin:

- Pikmin 3 stage. Not much else to say.

Star Fox:

- Personally it would be nice if Sakurai just revamped one of the existing Star Fox stages in the series. All of them bar Lylat Cruise come from 64 anyways.

F-Zero:

- This one really puzzles me because this series is in a very precarious situation. Every other series -- excluding Game and Watch, Gyromite and Ice Climbers for obvious reasons -- has had a title to claim, yet F-Zero has zero. Will Sakurai dip back into GX some more? Will he refashion Mute City? Will he bring back Port Town and leave it at that? So much mystery.

Pokémon:

- Trying to figure out stages is almost as mind numbing as picking characters. One of the places from the Black and White series are pretty much a given. As far as X and Y go, that will probably come next game around. Unless Sakurai goes all in with DLC. A HeartGold/SoulSilver stage would be sweet, alas, who knows where Sakurai's priorities lie.

- There is also the remote possibility of Pokémon Stadium III...

- My sleeper stage to watch for is a Pokémon Rumble meets PokéFloats stage.

Fire Emblem:

- My gut tells me Sakurai will be a little more specific on the Fire Emblem stage this time around. While my knowledge on Awakening is limited the one idea that sticks out to me is... Well, it involves fighting atop something big.

Earthbound:

- Not sure whether Earthbound or Mother 3 will claim a stage, but Saturn Valley is a great embodiment of both games. Hopefully the re-release of Earthbound means we can get some more Earthbound music this time around. I cannot handle going without Battle Against a Machine for another game.

Game and Watch:

- Flat Zone III? Probably. Some acknowledgement of Game and Watch Gallery would be nice. GB chiptunes at their best.

Animal Crossing:

- We'll probably see "New Smashville". The play on words is absolutely perfect.

Xenoblade:

- Regardless of whether Shulk is playable or not, Xenoblade is one of the most graphically impressive titles on the Wii and one of the few wholly owned Nintendo games Sakurai can pull from. Definitely full of the kind of locations Sakurai would love to use.

So Starphoenix, do you see Bowser's Castle as a possibility?

As for F-zero, assuming Samurai Goroh got in as playable, do you think that the stage would be Red Canyon?

My ideas for some of the new stages I'd like to show up.

Super Mario:

A lot of amazing choices. I think we'll definitely see, finally, Bowser's Castle. This could also be related to the Mario Kart franchise. I actually hope it features the Bowser statue which blows fire from its mouth. Also lava = epic win. Another Mario Kart rep could be Rainbow Road. It can be a weird stage with a completely different gravity for example. This would absolutely feature some bikes and karts from the franchise. Also, I would love it to have constellations not only based on the Mario franchise, but from others too. It would be filled with easter eggs. Comet Observatory would be nice but I'd like more a distinctive planet or the Mario Ship from Galaxy 2. Also, Acorn Plains will most likely substitute Mushroomy Kingdom.

F-Zero:

I would love to see Fire Field as the new Big Blue kind of stage. With platforms along the cars and the characters get reversed vertically since they're racing on a tube. Would be totally crazy. Casino Palace could be the new Port Town / Mute City.

Donkey Kong:

Silhouette Sunset is pretty much a given. I really expect it to see in it. It's simply too easy. Also I would like a stage based on the mines (like Bombs Away), with the characters which have to jump on the rails at high speed.

Pokémon:

I hope this version of Pokémon Stadium features the types dragon, poison and possibly the new Gen VI type. Not sure how the first one could work, but poison could have all the platforms drowning energy if you stay on them. Also Poké Floats 2: make it happen!

Well, here's a thing though. Putting effort is really meaningless if you think about it. By now 90% of the roster must have been decided. No ammount of rallying or chanting os gonna change who got in or not. The only ones worth supporting are late-comers, characters who had little support a year ago, but now are seeing a rise (like Ashley). And 3rd party characters, who still very much a shot in the dark.

The big ones, Pokemon, DK, Zelda, Metroid, Mario and FE, are pretty much set in stone at this point I'm sure.

In fact, if you think about it, getting support for unlikely faces is a more fruitful endeavor at this point, because if anything, it raises their suppor for Smash5.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't see K.Rool as likely as most people around here do. Mostly because I've never cared much for him, and I think Diddy+Dixie is a better choice (though both can easily happen). I just don't see him as a sure-fire shot. He could very well end up being the next Ridley.

Speaking of WL getting shafted, I don't think that poses well for me to even see anything WL-related unfamiliar. I just really am annoyed and disappointed that WW seems relevant enough to be used again for Wario-representation. Why are the people who grew up with 90's Wario getting so shafted here?

On the positive notes, I'm just looking way so much forward to SMG-stages and think SMG-representation all the time in SSB4. Maybe because those games are so close and great to me because it's what I truly consider the best Mario-work since both 64 and World. Sunshine wasn't too bad, but Galaxy beats it by a big notch. I'm sure Wii U and to some extent, 3DS would bring these places and memories alive in much brighter reimagined form. Ah~ (-´2`-)

I've actually never played a WL game. I heard that it's hard to die in them, so idk.

To me, WW has a larger and more diverse cast of unique faces. Though I agree, Wario should have taken more inspirtaion from WL in his moves.

On SMG, I disagree that it's better than Sunshine. Not by a long-shot. Sunshine is the best 3D Mario imo, it's got fluid an tight gameplay. Wide open levels to explore, and unique platforming challenges. The whole game is just so great, the only flaw is that there isn't more. I must have beaten Sunshine a good dozen times.

So far, SMG2 has failed to impress me, or even capture me. Not the mention the controls aren't nearly as tight as 64 and Sunshine, Mario moves so slow.. It's a pain in the ass, and it removes all the creative shortcuts one could take to the star. Something generally impossible in the Galaxy games because they're so linear. Not to mention all the damn hand-holding. The physics in the game are great, but they are nowhere near as good as the previous 2 3D Mario titles. Here's to hoping WiiU Mario goes back to the tight open-world platforming.

I agree that SMG levels in Smash4 will be great though. Especially if they have a quirky gravity gimmick.

Umm yes. If Sakurai decides against a New Mushroom Kingdom stage, then we'll probably see Bowser's Castle. The only reason I believe it's either/or right now is because of many Mario stages I'm expecting to be new in addition to the returning stage.

- Starship Mario
- Bowser's Castle
- Rainbow Road
- Toad Town
- Luigi's Greater Mansion
- Mushroomy Kingdom

As for F-Zero, I pretty much agree with that statement. If Goroh's in then it only makes sense to go with Red Canyon, even if it wasn't a prominent track in GX. Outside of that possibility I don't see F-Zero getting a new stage. Only Port Town will return. My crazy tin foil hat theory is that Sin and Punishment: Star Successor will be a pseudo spiritual successor in the vein of Mute City: a flying platform stage. Think back to my S&P stage concept.

On SMG, I disagree that it's better than Sunshine. Not by a long-shot. Sunshine is the best 3D Mario imo, it's got fluid an tight gameplay. Ugh, Sunshine is terrible. The water mechanic is as gimmicky as can be. At least with Galaxy the atmosphere and music make up for the game's linearity.
As for a Galaxy stage, I don't think there will be any crazy gravity mechanic.

@series getting shafted:

Why is it everybody forgets about the Game and Watch Gallery series? Seriously, not one track from any of the four games. Some of the best Gameboy music in existence. Even have Waluigi boxing with Luigi on the cover.

Nintendo will still be at E3 presenting its games, just not with a conference like M$ e Sony.
The fact that they'll show Smash Bros., Mario Kart and other stuff through Directs like they did in the last few months makes me think that we may get new info even before E3 starts.

Vintage, agreed. In reality, it maybe a smarter move to show the trailers before E3 or shortly after to avoid them getting meshed in with the Xbox, PS4 hype. After would be the best outcome because it maybe forgotten if we get it before in the other hype (obviously not by us but I am saying the typical gaming community). If done after, people will be talking about Smash and not Xbox/PS4.

Will we be getting any info at E3 now that we know Nintendo won't have an official appearance?
Nintendo never said they weren't going to have appear. They will be there, and will have several conferences in smaller scale than years past. Even then they still may have a main presentation. Nintendo did the same thing last year: they had a Nintendo Direct before their conference and a smaller conference the day after their E3 presentation focused solely on 3DS titles. All Nintendo is trying to do is reach specific audiences without the juggle routine of cramming it all into one hour long presentation. Gamers don't care about Wii Fit U, distributors don't care about title announcements with the same investment as gamers, et cetera et cetera. Personally, I like this strategy. I'll miss the glitz and glamour but E3 is a shell of its former self anyways. Nintendo does not need some big, fancy presentation to get their information out. The media isn't going to punish them by not reporting information.

What makes me think they'll show them before is that they will be wanting the audience to try them out at E3. So I think it's safe to say that they'll want to "prepare" the audience to what they have to expect from the games. Maybe that's their strategy, getting our attention before so we'll want to try out the new Smash Bros. instead of attending the conference of the other companies. So I expect a lot of Directs the week before E3, each of them showing off a new game or the support of third parties. Or at least that's what I think, but nowadays with Nintendo, you can't really ever know....

For me the hype has reached that moment in which I don't feel it anymore. I'm like in a limbo, and I can't seriously put my attention in any other videogame... Thank God this doesn't affect other parts of my life.

I guess stupidity makes time fly.

Again, I just want to see Super Smash Bros. just so we can finally clarify vague hints and disprove rumors. As for me and E3, give us more information Bayonetta 2 and X.

I just found out via TV Tropes that In Japan Mother 3 is much less popular then Mother 2. I noticed its mostly the opposite for those who played both in the west.

Well I'm looking forward to some TV series (Arrested Development) and movies (Only God Forgives) coming this month that will ease the wait.
I have to get Fire Emblem Awakening also.

Yeah 43 days is not that far anymore. I've been aching for Sm4sh news for a long time now and thankfully we're very close to the reveal day.

In the meantime, I guess I'll just continue with Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion (3DS and XL), Super Smash Flash 2, and Super Smash Bros. Crusade to kill time.

Yep... Mine includes the first half. Skull Kid, Duck Hunt Dog, and King Boo are all on the 'other' half.

*Edit* Well... all but Layton.

Amazing Game. Well worth $40 in the US. I was kicking myself today over not waiting and getting the Blue FE:A 3DS over the black. I may have the Falchon-Dragon symbol engraved latter...

My character support list:

Characters I really want in:
- Ridley
- Mega Man
- Mewtwo
- Roy

Characters I would like to see in, but don't feel motivated to support them (nor would I be disappointed if they did not show up):
- Toad
- Dixie Kong
- Little Mac
- K. Rool
- Palutena
- Paper Mario
- Bandanna Dee

During pre-Brawl:

Characters I really wanted in:
- Wario
- Pit
- Meta Knight
- Diddy Kong
- King Dedede
- Ike
- Olimar
- Sonic
- Ridley (only one that did not make it in)

Even if Ridley is confirmed, I likely won't feel motivated to support any of the characters on the latter list. Practically all the characters I really had a strong connection to were added for Brawl.
