Basically last roster leak except with diddy and overalls Wario.
Overalls Wario basically deconfirms this, if it weren't so obvious already.

Yeah, that's fake, but Overalls Wario doesn't disconfirm anything. For all we know, he might be the one showcased for the anniversary of Wario Land, or for some Mario spin-off.

Also, that's another new Yoshi render, though presumably, like Diddy and Mewtwo's, it's from an existing game as well.

Who knows, this could be a roster with all characters unlocked. It's still fake though.

But that would kill the fun. I like raging at "pointless" challenges to get a character I'll only use once. At least I have the memories...

Don't know if this was posted yet, but this on GAF claims he is friends with a Nintendo employee that played the E3 build and heard some unannounced characters that will be in the game, GAF is strict with their moderation and he had an account for 5 years, so he seems like the real deal.

So I have some legitimate (non) news. I met up with a friend today who works at Nintendo, who has gotten to play smash bros. builds at various stages. They said they knew about "a ton" of unrevealed stuff, but they also said that there were "even a couple characters they didn't show [at E3]", which makes me think that there are more like 1 or 2 unannounced newcomers rather than 5 or 6.

I was completely stonewalled trying to get any information or specifics. I did find out something interesting though, that they were never allowed to play as Kirby, as that would spoil/reveal something.

They did say that the target was a spring release though, which seems to confirm what the NoE dude let slip a few weeks back.

The person I was talking to is also not a "hardcore" gamer, so it's possible the they don't know that Rosalina has been revealed publicly, for example. We mostly talked about Nintendo corporate stuff.

Yup. I was just about to post that the Mewtwo picture looked like the toy.

edit: I'm also inclined to believe the gaffer. People who claim to have insider sources are usually banned pretty quickly if they are proven to be liars. Also, to have an account on Gaf takes a while. Some people get approved. Some don't. And you have to have a paid email address. I know some people who have waited years to get approved so accounts there are worth a lot more than on other sites.

He didn't say anything about his friend being a play tester. This guy is believable. Best just to keep an eye on what he posts.

The thing that ruins these fake character select screens screenshots everytime is that there's no "READY TO FIGHT?" or "PRESS START TO FIGHT" messages going across the screen, despite all 4 characters being chosen. Something the fakers should think about next time.

From the sounds of it even the poster wasn't too sure. Chances are it was just for whatever build he might have gotten a hold of.

If he's right about characters from E3 being held back, I think that probably corroborates the other NeoGAF leak. If Nintendo really is trying to get Smash out by Spring/Summer, then I'm not surprised they're already in the testing phase of development. Guess we'll see. Still think the rumored targeted Spring release is more what Nintendo wants and less of Sakurai.
