But like I said, I think they have the opposite problems. Once you accept the notion that you can attack with things that aren't really attacks, it's actually quite easy to come up with move sets for those characters. The problem with the Villager would be more narrowing it down than coming up with enough moves, considering all the little items and things in the game.Yeah, I agree they have the "weird factor". However, the point I was driving at is if Sakurai and his team were able to make unique and fun move sets for WFT and the Villager, I'm willing to bet they could make Little Mac a little more than a bland, boring boxer.
I don't think any of them get as bland as Marth. He has a rising sword swipe, a stab, a sword attack combo and a counter move. And yet he's still in.Plus, I was calling out those who knock on Mac's likeliness due to his potentially bland Moveset.
If Little Mac can't beat that, then I think he's in trouble. But he should be able to be at least as interesting as Marth, if not more.
And like I said, that doesn't mean that his moves can't be varied in effect or fun to use. But they'd still all be variations on punches (even a counter punch is still a punch). I'm skeptical of him getting any moves like stance changes or the ability to heal. A stance change would practically double the amount of work they'd have to do, and they haven't given any characters healing except through items (including final smashes) or absorbing a subset of attacks (Ness/Lucas). The star thing could be incorporated though.
But like I said, I don't think all his moves basically being punches is that big of a problem.
