Most if the time it would only spawn the Common Items. It's only after waiting a long time that there is a chance of the other items, and the timer resets when the move is done.

I could actually imagine a good Majora's Mask Moveset, even without Transforming Characters. Young Link would be like any other Link Basic and Smash Move wise, but his Special Moves would have him using his various Masks in order to attack. The alts I've been using (Banjo and Kazooie DHD, any of Bowser Jr's Skins, Fierce Deity Link, Dr. Mario, Pink DK, Gold Falcon, etc) are already different enough that I have no problem getting confused between them on the 3DS. I guess it just depends on the costume you like.
