Yep, it's coming back to me now. I did hate the beginning to that level. Bowser could have his shell broken or damaged and yoshi could have his saddle broken. Not sure about Kirby (or any of the pokemon) though.

I don't really recall anything particularly bad about that level, but that might be skewed by the fact that it's when you get Chewgi, who's my favorite W101 character. That said, both of your suggestions would make for great stages.

I'm with you on Hyrule Castle. Absolutely loved going through there. What about inside Vorkken on top of P-Star for a W101 Stage? I personally would like a stage that starts on the altar of the Sunne/Moone that takes you through ultra space to all the unique ultra space areas, like the place...

Imo, if they added Type null it should be based on how well your doing instead of how much your getting your ass kicked, since he needs friendship to evolve. But I'm with you on beast balls. I'd love to see Buzzwole.
