I was talking about Zelda in the Tier List thread and apparently I got outdebated.
I think I ruined my chances to be in the Zelda Panel for the next MU thread...
ohwell.

It's whatever. Zelda has so few panelists anyway that you might on the panel regardless.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter. Even if the Zelda panel can justify matchup changes with theorycraft, they are still going to hit a brick wall when it comes to supplying evidence.

Outdebated? Maybe I don't remember something but you made perfectly good points.

Also, I'm considering starting a new MU thread, does anyone think I shouldn't for any reason? I think starting one would at least let people know what the Zeldas think (relating to the second part to Mr. Eh's post.)

Edit: Was I just inb4'd by Rizen... e . o

I have no problem with MU threads but fyi, the G&W, Link, Zelda (AiB), PT forums all tried this in about the last month or two and none got through more than 3 characters. I haven't seen a MU thread with more than 1/4th of the characters discussed for at least a year or two :/

Wario's MU thread is still active, though.

And thanks BJ, I realized it was less of "outdebated" and more of "thread moved a lot and I was left behind while I was asleep/away".

The Zelda boards died because it has always been one person trying to carry the rest. If everybody "walked" together, it would be less work for everybody but you could still get a lot done. (Example... the MU thread. Aside from the first couple matchups, the rest have been done by mostly me.) It's not even that hard. I'm incredibly busy working part time, taking 8 courses, doing extra-curriculars, and playing Brawl and Melee. It takes 5-10 minutes at most per day... there's really no excuse for inactivity unless you just don't care.

There have been countless empty promises here in the Zelda boards. How many times has somebody promised to do something, but end up not delivering?

We lost our mod (hasn't posted since August), none of the BR members have contributed since who knows when, and one of our top contributors has been banned from this site...

Like... I'm seriously thinking about picking up Zelda again but looking at the state of this place makes me think otherwise...

Nobody cares enough. Just accept it and either do the work because you honestly want to or don't bother.

When I used to do frame data and **** for Pika/Zelda/Smash Lab, it was because I actually enjoyed researching stuff. If you're expecting everyone to rally together, you're going to be mighty frustrated, because it'll never happen.

(......Well, that's a partial lie. The Pikas actually did make a kickass guide together, but it took a looooot of work and a loooot of nagging.)

The matchup chart.

I want the Zelda boards to thrive again but there's no way in hell I'm going to do everything on my own *cough*guide*cough*matchup*cough*

I started working on a Stage guide/trick compendium/tips for Meta Knight, Zelda and DeDeDe, but I'm lazy and didn't work much on them :p

Someone needs to change the thread title too.

My trouble with MU/stage discussions is almost all my Zelda experience vs good people is from wifi. I don't want to be one of those players who says "this works" while the experience tourney players think "yeah, on wifi or vs people with the reflexes of an acorn but vs good people you'll be punished".:scared:

I'm basically the only Link who critiques (for almost a year:glare:) and have done stuff for those forums :/ .

Honestly, Wifi is a legit way to learn matchups. Hey, at least you don't have your critiques ignored like I do.

I wonder who's on the Zelda panel... Obviously, only the optimists. Although I will concede that Pokemon Trainer is definitely -1. -2/-3 Squirtle, and 0 with Ivysaur/Charizard.

Strangely, PT is probably one of my best matchups (as Peach) but that doesn't mean my Zelda can't hold her own.

I want to start the MU thread up, but i'm having trouble trying to think of how it should be done, and i've been somewhat busy.

________

I'm thinking:

Order: Low tiers first (because even though they matter less, we'd not want to do them if we got to them last.) High tiers next, then mid tier, then Top tier. Also, I feel we should discuss the sperate PT pokes and PT as one

Length per char: 2 weeks at most bcause we don't want them getting too long, but I think we should have enough time for as many good players with MU experience to talk.

MU numbers: -4 +4 numbers because the MU chart uses this, so, less confusion.
And if you use a ratio, (50:50 etc.) it will be counted within the numbers:
50:50 = 0, 55:45 = +1, 60:40 / 65:35 = +2, 70:30 / 75:25 = +3, 80:20+ = +4 and vice versa.

Stuff for MUs: What to look out for, what we can do, Stages, and anything else you'd find helpful.

___________
This is what I have so far. Does anyone disagree with anything or have questions?

I thought it went (roughly)0=even, +1=55/45, +2=60/40, +3=65/35 and +4= 70/30 and better. But 65/35 is a solid +3 and so on.

It's good to invite other character forums for these but they might have a low turnout for Zelda:c.
I suggest making separate threads for each discussion and leaving them open for a while during the next few characters so absent people can say stuff but not interrupt the next discussion.
Collect vids people donate too.

For character choice, it might be faster to ask who else Zelda players use and start with those characters. 'Just a suggestion. I can help with Link, Ganon, Zelda dittos, PT, G&W and Wolf.

Or do a reverse tierlist order, that way we all would know exacly the order.

As for ratios, can't "equalize" the ±4 to the 50:50.
I see 0 as a range of 50:50 or 55:45, +1 between 55:45 and 60:40, +2 between 60:40 and 65:35, +3 from 65:35 and 70:30, and +4 as 70:30 and worse. But that's probably just me.

Forgot this character existed, so I decided to play her yesterday.

My Zelda hasn't dropped a match.

On wifi I like to use USmash to deal damage and Utilt for KOs when Usmash is stale. Utilt's good. I think it will stop Fox/Falco's sideBs.

This thread needs a new title.

Not really necessary when Kata can just switch the thread owner.

If Kata even still exists.

*appears!*

I don't think there's any need for a new social atm.

But yeah I can switch owners pretty easily! Who wants this one?

Sup guys. Still in Atlanta. Trapped pretty hard but could've done much better.

25th out of 102 in singles and 9th out of 32 in dubz.

I took a game from ESAM with Zelda in pools and did well to keep it close in game 3.

Made a handful of mistakes towards the closing moments for me. Lost to biglou and Ryo. Grrrr.....I wanted so much more lmao! Gotta stay hungry.
