Twi.

You don't know how much snow I had to shovel.

It's horrible.

(MY SISTER ALMOST GOT FROSTBITE)

Cold rain, and the wind here right now is ridiculous. I fear for my life driving in high winds, since every strong gust actually shoves my whole car to the side completely out of my control.
your precious ice and snow hurt my precious tree QQ
if I don't get a lot of blooms in spring, I'm coming back to blame you again, for no particular reason
.... ;;

Well last year during the whiteout all my friends blamed me for every time it snowed, all the way through April. ;v;
Maybe I should embrace my inner-Elsa again... maybe that'll work.
no I'm just crazy

Never mind I don't think it's relevant to Fox's jab

Oddly if I use a diagonal downward angle with Fox's jab2 or Palutena's jab it gives me an ftilt on frames that would normally work for jab>jab, without moving the circle pad. And then I get jabs again after the ftilt.

I typed "yesterday" on autopilot, meant to say the other day. That Falco jab1 loop you tagged me about.

Captain Falcon's frame data is pretty Greninja-y iirc, though not quite in the same ways.
Oh, this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xtDXczotRQ.

By the way, if anyone mains Fox *cough* @Macchiato *cough*, I started the Fox MU thread in the Falco boards: http://smashboards.com/threads/ssb4-falco-matchup-discussion-05-fox-pretty-smooth-flying-fox.389521/.

Oh, and apparently the Fox boards are kind of empty as well. That or they're lazy from what I remember people saying. Maybe I should invite the Links over... *sounds of snarls, grunts, and bloodcurdling cries* ... On second thought, I might invite the Toon Lin- *heavy breathing as Toon Links stand over corpses of Wind Waker Ganondorfs* ... :p

I wanted to invite the Rosalinas over, but I think they have a schedule and I rarely fight them along with the Falco mains. It's mostly Captain Falcons for them and me and Foxes for me.

Yes, that.

I wish MasterCore2 had FAFs, I'm not finding jabs like Link's where crouch cancelling makes that much of a difference in followup potential.

I don't really hate the snow, I know Saucer magnolias tend to struggle more with wind, however this time the sheer weight of the ice and snow got it. I still hate wind and I hope the blooms aren't a lackluster count this year

edit: example bloom above

I wished I could find start ups and stuff for Specials, but whatever, the basics are there and I can always update the frame data. I sort of want to make one for the Fox boards since they don't have one which sucks considering Fox is already popular and developing him would be a good idea. I mean, Falco's Fox's wingman, we gotta look out for each other.

Went through a bunch of the cast in training.

Link, Yoshi, and I guess probably Toon Link seem to be the characters that benefit noticeably, but Link's the only one that gets a jab1 loop from crouching.

Yoshis already knew they had a good jab1 anyway, they've been doing jab>usmash and jab>downB since release.

On some level I always knew it, but Dedede's jab combo is really weird too. If he isn't hitting anyone with it he can actually buffer jab1 from jab2 or other A button inputs, including grab, without having to crouch to prevent his rapid jab from starting. Hitlag seems to mess with it for some reason though.

Larry Lurr probably knows everything about Fox down to the frame already.

I don't know if he'd actually post a thread though.

It'd be nice for the Fox boards to have a frame data thread. As for Jab loops, I think Falco's was targeted and deliberately toned down which is funny since in Brawl he relied more on zoning with his Blaster and his Jab isn't that great especially since pretty much anyone can interrupt it like Jigglypuff using Rest in the middle of it and KO'ing Falco just for jabbing, one of the most basic and useful tools in the game.

Speaking of Falco,

why do people call his jab good in this game?

I mean, jab1 being frame 2 is pretty cool, but I'm pretty sure he has the easiest rapid jab to SDI out of.

And to be fair, Jiggs can rest nearly any jab that isn't disjointed.

I don't know, maybe because it has good range or something? Falco kind of attacks a bit high with his Jab, so it might be that it can sort of function as an anti-air tool. I'm not sure though, to be honest. All I know is that it's a fast and free way of getting damage.

I have heard people talk about just doing Jab 1 and 2 to tilts, grabs, and maybe Smashes, but I don't think I ever pulled one off or was thinking about it, so I end up doing the full Jab combo. Then there's the thing about Falco being utter trash, so people point out things that are "decent" as good about him.

Oh, and @xSoul found the video about the Link Jab-crouch-thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWmtA1VCHWY.

Edit: Man, I'm late to the party.

Have you seen Robin's?

Pit's is pretty awful too, I think it's about the same as Falco's though. Not sure why the minimum time on it has enough hits to start pushing him back.

Though, Pit and Robin have a jab3 they can use instead too. Falco's just hosed in general.

Can you even Gentleman Little Mac's Jab combo? Anyway, on Falco, I just do the minimum amount of hits for his Jab unless I want to mess around or I'm fighting someone who clearly does not know how to SDI out of it.

ya good thing robin and pit have a much more useful jab 3, which is pretty much every jab 3 compared to a rapid jab

You can, actually. 11% vs 12% and unlike his rapid jabs it true combos/isn't going to be escaped.

Althoooooough Mac has some really good ledge cancel combos with his rapid jab. Even on shield rapid jab ledge cancel>KO Punch is a kill setup.

Robin's rapid jab is just lol, it's like the Zelda of jabs
I can't describe how many times I've accidentally done it instead of jab 3 and taken a rest/knee/ZSS dsmash to the face

At least its KO power made it a hilarious trap before vectoring was axed.

I died off the top to it at around 65% once as Dedede trying to SDI up before the final hit.

Wait, how? I tried pressing and holding down the button, but I always get his rapid jab. Unless this is a stupid 3DS-only thing, then I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Hmm... I should make a trip to the Little Mac boards.

Holding the button goes to rapid jab, you have to press A 3 times. I only have 3DS too, so...

You can slow down the jabs more than you think without dropping the combo.

In my experience on the Wii U version you can hold the button for the 3 hit combo or mash it for the rapid jab. Holding it meaning you push it once, hit them, then let the rest of the combo go while holding the button down. It's like this for all chars with rapid jabs and 3 hits.

So, it's basically like Dancing Blade... I feel like input lag makes Dancing Blade even more difficult since in Brawl, you could mash the hell out of B and get the full combo.

Mac's is backwards, for some weird reason. This is how it works with other characters though, yes.

I think it works better for him for it to be this way though, it means he can just hold A while mashing whatever B move he wants to ledge cancel into.

Really? That's weird. Maybe Sakurai thought that his rapid jab was better for him or something (which it kinda is imo).

Also for some reason I thought you guys were talking about Captain Falcon. My input is now invalidated, lol.
