To the uninitiated, Micky reads like a mary sue OC in someone's fanfic. She is the only one with silver hair, has a skill that is completely unique to her for the get go (Sacrifice), very quickly becomes a respected of the previously villainous army, is stated to be part of a rare group of people with special powers, hates the previous game's protagonist, and goes on to be effectively his equal be the endgame.

Granted Micky is actually a really complex and entertaining character who I'd argue is rather justified in most of the things she has.

I mostly got @Buddhahobo 's wide variety of units as my partner, but I also occasionally got Kektria's Rein (I know that's a gorl here, I just forgot who), an irl friend's Elincia, and a different irl friend's Eliwood. I know for sure Burgundy and yet another irl friend joined Soren but I never got their units once, and I think Puddin joined Soren as well? Because I never got your Inigo. And if anyone else joined Soren well I didn't know since the game never let me use your units lol

That's all the Aerospray is good for, low level TW. During more intense TW games (like during Splatfest) and any ranked mode it's useless. It's sorta okay in Salmon Run I guess but you don't really have a choice of using it or not in that mode so oh well.

I played a demo of Fire Emblem Awakining recently, and I really liked it. Thing is, I know the story of Fire Emblem Awakining already. So I have another question. Is Fire Emblem Fates worth getting?
Side note, I beat the original Mega Man. Surprisingly fun considering how many times I died (There are only 10 courses in the game, but I must have died at least 80 times).

Strictly from a gameplay standpoint, I think Conquest is my favorite Fire Emblem. Lots of interesting maps, good difficulty level, and I liked the Nohr royals quite a bit. Plot and whatnot is a bit whatever, but I can't say I've ever actually played a Fire Emblem for the plot anyway. Didn't play the other two routes (I still haven't gotten around to starting Revelation lol).

You should play the other NES Mega Man games, too. I should too, I still haven't played 3-6.

the story of fates is super awful

conquest is probably the worst in that regard, but they're all pretty trash

the gameplay is really where fates shines

conquest is the most fun imo, but also the most challenging

birthright is kinda like awakening v2, and revelations is just gimmick maps: the game

fates isn't bad, especially if you can suspend your disbelief throughout the godawful storytelling

conquest is a lot of fun in particular

Roller has been really fun.

yeah, that one's also a good scrub killer

but it loses effectiveness once you realize it's really not that hard to kill the people running at you with one of the rollers

but yeah, the rollers are fun

Like X, the game's plot is structured in chapters. There are 10 chapters. Ch.4 takes place at about the 45-hour mark and i'm assuming that's not counting the hours of sidequests and exploration. This game's gonna be looooooong and i'm perfectly ok with that.

Couldn't figure out what avatar to have for this month, so why not something cooking related; Thanksgiving and November. I did consider using an image of Alton Brown, but having a real-life image for an avatar isn't my thing. It seems weird to me. Anyway, if there's one thing about something that I did not care about at one point or another, but because someone was able to convey it in such a way that I became fascinated by it, then Alton Brown did that to cooking for me. Good Eats was my favorite show on Food Network and the reason was that it wasn't like any of the cooking shows during and after its time. Most of the time, they're instructional; do this, do that, follow these steps to make whatever is being made on that episode. Nothing is wrong about that since it's helpful and that's the point, but Good Eats made cooking feel like a science and that was amazing and enrapturing for someone who likes the technical and trivial parts of things. Exact measurements on the screen, the history behind recipes, the actual science behind why things work, all of that along with the weird camera angles and skits, MacGyvered equipment, and good writing made Good Eats and cooking fun. Cooking became more than good food to me; it became an intricate process of creating good food. That's also on top of the whole I believe food is a way for people to connect with each other by seeing or rather, tasting different styles of food. I don't remember who said that, but it's been ingrained in me since then.

Welp, that's my spiel about cooking. Have fun seeing this face for the rest of the month and part of December until I figure out what avatar to use for that month.

Finally got my hands on a copy of Sonic Forces for the Switch. So now I'll be able to properly see how bad it truly is hands on.

Speaking of Smash. Decided to go onto the battletorn grounds of For Glory after the Miiverse Servers shut down.

Ran into a scumbag Lucas. A really fun Bowser, a very good Lucario. A decent ZSS and a meh Link.

The Lucas was pretty bad, only spammed ZAir and Side B. I beat him twice, he did the same.
He changed his tags to "xd" and "bitchpls", then left. smh.

Btw, for those who care about Injustice 2. The Ninja Turtles are confirmed fighters in the 3rd Pack.

I assume Hero Fest 3 will be soon. If I had to guess, it’d probably be something like Innes, Tana/Linde, Ayra/Sigurd/Elincia, and Sonya/Deirdre/Amelia

Ayra is probably the most likely red candidate, but idk they would put her and the other Geneology characters on Hero Fest 3 because they’re so new

Also wtf is up with defense wins. I went weeks barely getting even one, but as a last ditch effort, I set my defense team this week to my armor emblem team and I have 8 defense wins and counting? Wtf armor emblem is basically a free win. How are people losing to me

I personally never bothered with Arena Defense. It's just too luck based imo. Sure, a proper team will help your chances of defending successfully but the AI will still control your team. The Arena's all about exploiting the AI which is why i find Arena Defense to be kinda pointless.

I got around to watching IGN's XC2 preview

In it, we hear what the boss fight theme sounds like. The best part? We have a clean rip of it. In fact, we've had one for months now, as it was one of the songs the Japanese website released during E3.

The best part about this was that Shanna beat Takumi without the multiplier.

I wasn't on Team Shanna but i'm still very happy for them. I'll be giving Shanna extra favoritism next time i play Binding Blade (even though she's already one of my main units).

I wasn't on Team Takumi either. I stopped participating after Katarina lost.

I’m super hyped that Shanna won (even though I was a traitorous Team Katarina heaux), against Takumi of all characters. It was really cool when team Shanna suddenly gave a lot more points in the last 2 rounds.

As for new banners, I don’t really mind who they put, although I’d probably be a bit more inclined to pull for Micaiah. What I really want is a banner with Python and Tatiana/Silque (though not soon, still reeling over only getting a -spd Katarina recently).

Afternoon gorls. How's everyone doing?

Managed to print out some stuff today for myself and my TA to look through tomorrow for University. Also, I think my Switch hates Sonic Forces.

When I took it out of the dock to ventilate, the fan was being unusually quiet; when I also left the game to turn off the software for the first time, the icon glitched and some of the cutscenes seem to have a bit white lines flicker in every so often.

But when I got back to Mario Odyssey, it was as happy as can be. Fan was being its usual, loud self when ventilating outside of being docked for so long.

Mental note; got to respect my Switch and not give it bad games. I think it was destiny for my Switch to not like Forces, since when I tried to put Forces into the Switch; it dropped out of my hands and landed behind some boxes; getting dust over it. :V

Mario Galaxy turns 10 years old today
This was my first Mario game and I think it's also my favorite mostly for that reason (well, tied with Galaxy 2 that is). It was also great since a ton of people at school played it so we would compare star counts and ask for help with stuff often (like where the third Green Star was when it ended up being underneath Buoy Base Galaxy like who tf puts a star there) and it was a wonderful experience overall.

I just saw that on YouTube's suggestions bar and could not believe it was real. Then I remembered that Geese got in.

I expected Noctis to fight like every other Tekken 7 character using only hand to hand combat that could have referenced FF monks or something like Yoshimitsu. Nope, he looks like he'd belong in Soul Calibur more than in Tekken. I don't know, it's cool, but also kind of dumb since Noctis being in Soul Calibur VI or announced alongside its reveal that's supposedly happening soon according to some leaks about certain characters appearing in SFV: AE, Dragon Ball FighterZ and how Devil May Cry 5, a new Pokémon game, Mother 3 localized, and a bunch of other stuff would be revealed soon.

Anyway, so that's BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, DB FighterZ, Mai Shiranui in DoA5, Hellboy and the TMNT in Injustice 2, Akuma, Geese Howard and Noctis in Tekken 7, and Bayonetta, Cloud, Mega Man, Pac-Man, and Ryu in Smash 4. What a time for fighting games. Meanwhile, Street Fighter V. Seriously, dump a DoA, KoF, Tekken, or whatever fighter in SFV:AE or something.

Speaking of guest fighters and Soul Calibur VI, the leaks said the game's going to be on PC, PS4, and the Switch --Xbox One wasn't listed for some reason. The idea it would be on the Switch made some speculate that Link might come back as a guest fighter something that hasn't happened since SCII and Soul Calibur is known for guest fighters, so it's possible assuming any of this is true.

Noctis really should have been the guest fighter for SCIV. A universal one even since FF has been on almost every platform which would leave the PS4 and Switch to have their own exclusive guest fighters. I guess PS4 could have Kratos again, but based on his God of War (2018) appearance or they could surprise us with someone like Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn.

Eight, Gladiolus, Jecht, Sabin, Snow, Tifa, Yang, Zell, or even Prishe and Wakka would have felt more at home in Tekken than Noctis. They're brawlers or actual martial artists unlike Noctis who as far as I know, doesn't fight using hand to hand combat much. Oh well.

I think I finally understand how critics of FFXIII felt when Square was spamming promotions for it. I can't stand FFXV and the constant ads, mobile game ads, and other promotions are really starting to annoy me
