So I have finally attended my first tournament...got 2517th/61. Not bad for my first I suppose, but not what I was looking for. Definitely not going to get on my school's Sm4sh collegiate roster with this, but I can practice for next year now and possibly get more chances to experiment with my non-Greninja characters.

My first match was the first to be streamed at the event and I lost 0-2 to the ZSS/Luigi I was facing. The matches were close, so I didn't get bodied on stream, but it also felt pretty bad since it felt so winnable and I was only a couple mistakes from winning. I was winning by a significant margin, but I went for an edgeguard, got hit by Luigi Missile, failed to tech and then Shadow Sneaked instead of Hydro Pumping.

I got a bye in Losers after that, won 2-0 against a Roy, then won by DQ against my next opponent, which I was actually disappointed about since I wanted to get as much experience as I could get and at least a 50% win rate in bracket. My next match was with an Ike I was playing FFA friendlies with earlier and he won 2-0 in super close matches. Got caught by an Eruption 2-frame punish on my last stock.

Tournament was so much fun though. Friendlies before the tournament were great and I never got salty after my losses. Offline Smash is so much more chill than online Smash. I want to go to another one as soon as possible, but that's not exactly in my control unfortunately. However, another tournament's being held soon during the week of my spring break (with Pokken! ) so I have good chances of going to that.

Oh and I got to play as Cloud and Corrin for the 1st time in friendlies. I can see why people like Cloud so much...he's way too fun. It's disgusting

Bayo is 2nd to Cloud in terms of obnoxiousness. Funnily enough, the #1 seed who I think won the tournament was using Bayo and I would have had to face him if I didn't lose 1st round. Good save I guess haha.

He doesn't have a F1 air dodge or a jail escape card so he's generally punished for ****ing up a lot more than a lot of other chars (Bayo, ZSS, Sheik, etc.). Sure his weakness isn't largely exploitable but he does get his ass combo'd all the same. He just lives long.

He's honest except for Limit Break specials (and honestly I find the concept of Finishing Touch hilarious). He just has a lot of dumb things.

To some extent yes, but one of them doesn't ignore mixups in some ways so you can clearly see there's a large discrepancy.

If Bayonetta doesn't feel like a Smash character, then that means that Sakurai succeeded in making Bayonetta accurately play like she does in her home games

For the most part, she does accurately represent her playstyle in her own games, but she can't Dodge Offset combos (which equates to using Bullet Arts while rolling/airdodging, which would be obnoxious as hell), and Bat Within doesn't trigger Witch Time when activated (and Bat Within actually extended Witch Time lol). There's also the small censoring of her outfit in Smash, but that was implied.

Little Mac and Mewtwo are pretty average at 0.08 gravity for Little Mac and 0.082 gravity for Mewtwo. Once they top it off, then Little Mac's a fast faller, 1.8, and Mewtwo's average, 1.5. So... Little Mac's "average", but he has a high fall speed while Mewtwo's average and average. Little Mac in the air is like the saddest thing; high fall speed and average air speed, but terrible accelerations for both. There's also Duck Hunt with a gravity of 0.076 and a fall speed of 1.65. The most applicable outside of low fall and low air speed would probably be Lucina and Marth: average fall speed, but low gravity so they feel like they linger in the air longer than Mario. "Opposite" would be Bowser, Charizard, and Pally; below-average fall speed, but above-average to high gravity. Pally doesn't feel like a fast faller while Bowser and Charizard just feel heavy. Speaking of fall speeds and gravity... I still wished Falco's was higher at 1.9 or something. Why? I don't know; I just like fast fallers.

High fall speed/low gravity is a really good physics combination. It's why Dedede and DK are so resistant to vertical KOs.

The opposite physics make you die disproportionately early off the top, and is why Bowser only dies 2% later than to TSRK.
