Haven't seen anyone talk about this but..
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/network/en_na/network_status.jsp
There's a lot of maintenance scheduled for Monday. Looks like pretty much everything is going to be down for several hours. Maybe an announcement or something?

This also means that no one will be able to play much on Monday so get any scheduled matches done before then.

Why would they take down their entire online infrastructure for just a Smash update though? I doubt anything will come from this.

Oh, I was meaning any kind of announcement.

There's also that thing with the recent eShop leaks of TPHD and more regular Wii ports.

Yeah, that makes more sense. Maybe it's the Club Nintendo replacement? Since NNID stuff is down as well, and more likely than not it'll be tied into that somehow. It might also need some updates to the Wii U/3DS system software, which might explain them being down.

That was a really bad trainwreck.

There I was being predictable and getting wrecked by Rosalandmine and Sheik.
All I wanted to do was get better and see whether I'm better with Mario or Doc, and I didn't do any of that. :V

GGs I guess Macchiato Macchiato .

Why is it ALWAYS the Top Tiers I struggle against? >_>

Good evening, guys! Gorls? Whatever. I went to a local Jack in the Box to see if they were hiring. The manager said that I had to wait for them to call me. :\ Getting tired of hearing that answer. Welp, Target here I come!

So....games anyone?

I haven't touched Smash 3DS in ages. Since I got no other games to play on that system right now.
Puzzles & Dragons Z and Project Mirai DX just to pass the time on that system right now. :V

I'd get some downloadable games from the eShop for that system, just cannot be bothered right now. And saving for the Smash 4 Ballot DLC. :3

And Project X Zone are the main ways I spend time playing on 3DS, when I'm not just listening to Smash music.

Just gotta wait for the sequel now. And I remember playing PXZ, beating it within my week when I was on vacation with my parents. Will say, it's fun at first but it gets really repetitive and boring quickly, and it doesn't help that characters are OOC as well. (Examples being Jin is rather edgy, Frank West is a pervert, taking pictures of some of the female cast. Juri is annoying and Reiji is always bullying Xiaomu. Dante seems to be the only character they managed to keep perfectly intact, he's snarky, cool and a badass.)

Just hope that PXZ2 does fix my gripes with characters not staying in character. Will say, I'm glad Mii and Kogoro are not in PXZ2, Mii's ability feels like it was shoehorned in at the last second.

More gifs from the Wolf support thread 4 u gurls if you want them.

I'm getting more and more respect for the Wolf support thread. :yeahboi:

GGs

you still throw out random smashes WAY too much. Also you roll too much. Don't approach with Dash Attack. It's incredibly unsafe. With Bowser, never land with Down B and Dair.

You cancel the game still. Don't do that, it's extremely r00d and disrespectful. It shows that you don't respect the person beating you and makes you look like a salty sore loser.

Yeah, sorry about that. It was just getting to me. Need to tone it down again.
I seriously need to focus more during our matches and not play like an idiot. :V

And of course, make more use of FTilt. (Also, who would you say I did better with? Mario or Doc?)
And I need to figure out how to beat those Top Tiers again.

When playing constant friendlies, I find regular feedback is a good way to keep the salt levels down.

Rizen Rizen you only get those costumes after beating the game once. So once you've experienced the atmosphere you can either keep playing that way or use the costumes for a change of pace.

I keep hearing the game is terrible sooo...
@ All the above: how so?
Stats are abstract. Characters RANDOMLY obtain stats and weapon skills/magic. But since it's random, it can feel medium to masochist mode. The boss fights are very challenging. Each character has affinities to gain stats (hp/sp/attack/guard/support) and weapon/magic skills... EXCEPT THE GAME DOESN'T CLUE YOU IN TO ANY CHARACTER'S ACTUAL AFFINITIES OR HOW ATTACK/GUARD/SUPPORT STATS WORK.

It would be amazing if the RNG was tuned with higher stat/skill obtaining percentages. As well as explaining how the very intricate battle system works and specific affinities for characters being stated.

Overall, grindy but intricate. It's the Zelda of RPGs! Flashy, pretty, (subpar) options aplenty, difficult, wisdom required, and low tier when compared to other JRPGs. Yet somehow considered fun to a few addicted poor souls. So yeah. Zeldon't: The Game.

Mario probably because of tier gap. Doc is trash

Juri does seem uncharacteristically angry in X Zone... but then again you do see shades of that in Street Fighter when she's lost/is losing, and considering we beat her on a regular basis she has good reason to be cranky. Not to mention she's usually running critical missions instead of just indulging herself in a tournament.

Frank doesn't seem to get a real kick out of photographing sexy ladies. He just does it because sex sells and apparently lets him level up. At worst he's shameless, but he's really just being professional.

I can't really vouch for Reiji & Xiaomu's character, but The Puppet Master chapter (where you fight Seth for the last time) still does show that when the chips are down they'll get things done.

Also, I find that the simplicity in Project X Zone's fighting system is what makes it so relaxing as a way to spend time. That said I am still glad for all the new mechanics in the sequel.

I'm not into horror myself. Can't stand that genre.

That is one genre I will never touch. Even though in College, my Tutor made us watch two horror films. One of them I walked out of the classroom because I'm squeamish when it comes to gore, but the other I just looked away.
Was not fun. :sadsheep:

So recently 2Manycooks placed in Top 8 with Doc and like 2 secondaries at a multi-regional (150 man, M2K was there among other pretty good players) within Canada. Was hype as hell and his performance was actually pretty well received. He went Doc a majority of the games and did pretty well at an event with pretty stacked players. MFW people say he's unusable lel. (He's defo worse than Mario, prolly mid-low in my opinion after playing him for....this game's lifespan)

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Gonna hang this one up on the "good ****" wall =).

(FYI the character seems to be banned at some low tier tournies. Go figure)

Additionally EODM07 EODM07 While I don't know how your sets went, I will say playing Mario or Doc is a matter of style. You play Doc if you like playing a passive mid-range game where you can capitalize on mistakes and edgeguard WAY WAY better than Mario can, and you play Mario if you just wanna go in and do stuff. One is certainly easier but neither are bad characters. One is top and the other is just mediocre/mid-low.

Recovering with Doc is hard until you learn to use recovery mixups and save your DJ. Then it's only hard when you lose your DJ (which you should try to AVOID LETTING HAPPEN AT ALL COSTS.)
