@ Rickster Rickster GGs, you're one of the two best Zeldas that I've fought. Yeah, I just really wanted that last match to be over. I'll be honest, I lose almost every single mirror match against anyone in almost every single fighting I'm skilled at (so like, DOA, Smash & SoulCalibur) except with Sheik. I can only beat my main without my main, it's kind of tragic. We'll have to fight again sometime!

How would you rate my characters based on what you saw, since I could win almost every time I didn't choose Zelda. I feel ashamed tbh.

Oh..I'm kinda bad at ratings but ok. Overall I would say you're very defensive/campy with a slight roll problem. Like I noticed you would almost always roll away after a failed attack, and that you really liked dashing in and rolling behind. You didn't do it nearly as much in our later matches, which is good.

Zelda- I noticed your Zelda is one of the defensive types. IMO you overuse Din's. You could be doing other things like going for grabs and reads instead of standing there shooting a bad projectile. This is especially prominent with edgeguarding. I don't think you tried once (or very often at least) for a spike or at least a Nair offstage. Now in a Zelda ditto, edgeguarding is weird, but against nearly everyone else being aggressive offstage is mostly beneficial. I also suggest being more mobile, but that's just me. My weird playstyle is quite different, lol.

You should also recover to the ledge more. Once I figured out that you like to jump and Farore's down, it was an easy punish every time.

Your throw combos could use some work. I saw you trying to get an Uair a few times but you weren't fast enough. Our grab game is one of our big strengths, IMO.

Utilize the Elevator. You never attempted it and it's one of our most dangerous attacks. Best used after a powershield, a regular block, a roll read, or after spotdodging a grab. Nair>Elevator is also very good, but really risky.

As for your other characters...well your Samus really made your rolling problem come out, since her roll is really bad. I would personally save the charge shot and use it to scare/KO, but that's just me. I see other Samus players using it like you do. Oh, and don't forget about Screw Attack. Excellent OoS option.

Marth was pretty good. Your spacing was on point. You also rolled a lot less as Marth, which is good. Jab setups were neat.

Sheik was...kinda weird, lol. I noticed you weren't going for her BnBs at all. Stuff like Fthrow>Fair/Bouncing Fish and Fair strings. Your Needle camping was annoying, but that's unfortunately how optimal Sheik is played. Also you can hit B again after hitting with Bouncing fish to remove like 90% of the end lag. Other than that she was solid.

Lucas was really good. I don't think he's as bad as people say he is, with all the PK Fire and Zair walls. I don't know Lucas much so I can't offer any input.

That's all I can remember really. I hope I didn't come off as overcritical or anything.
PS. Zelda dittos are still 40-40 :^)

Afternoon girls. How's everyone doing? :4zelda:

Had a bit of a nap earlier today, and I somehow made a 1600 Coin profit from the Meowth in Pokemon Shuffle. :V
But other than that, not much happened today. Its been kinda slow so far.

Evening~

Finally going to be able to leave the hospital very soon. Moreover, I've been given an extra week to fully recover back home. This means I could potentially go to my local tournament. It's going to be great catching up with some of the people over there.

My birthday is in two days. Strangely, I'm always more excited for my birthday leading up to it the farther away it is. Of course, my birthday is always fun itself.

With that said, I'm not getting many games this year because there just wasn't many things that interest me. I'm more focused on getting amiibos and pokemon plushies and shirts.

Since their debut, DK, Diddy, and Bowser never had updates to their voices. That's just bad. I mean, would you like it if Nintendo reused Mario's voice from Super Mario 64 in every game? They evolved to be goofy characters with cartoon-y voices instead of realistic ones. I never played the DKC games, but at the very least, they could have updated DK to sound like a gorilla. At least Diddy sounds like a monkey. Bowser sounds threatening and funny with his official voice while his Smash voice just sounds stupid, cheap, and poorly done. It doesn't help that Smash 4 recycled voices which are okay for some like Link, Ike, and Mario, but recycling recycled assets really shows its age. And worse, some characters who were given updated voices sound bad. Mike West kind of sounded worse than in 64, 64 3D, and Zero where he was fine for Fox, Mark Lund sounds like his lines were phoned in which is fine for the apathetic Falco and isn't as grating as West's voice work in Smash 4, but it sounds lazy, and Palutena doesn't even have her Uprising actress, Ali Hillis. I appreciate and love the work voice actors do, so I don't like it when voice directions are shoddily done or done in a way that kind of doesn't portray a character well. It's why I like Jim Walker for Fox because you can hear his energy, how I like Roy's redone lines reflect Roy's older appearance, or how Antony del Rio really brings Pit to life instead of just reading off lines like Mark Lund for Falco. Nothing against any voice actors, but some voice directions aren't good. Telling Lund to be Falco isn't like telling Lund that Falco needs to be arrogant while saying, "You're off your game, Fox", or smug while saying, " Piece of cake."

I'd say a lot of why DK, Diddy (not so much as of DKCR) and Bowser have so widely different voice clips is that their own voices would be grating to be heard over and over again... It's like how Mario isn't all "Yahoo!" and "Mama-mia!" every time he does something. Or just find a video of AMSA's Yoshi going against a Shiek and you'll see what I mean. The godzilla noises and the more generic grunts aren't as disruptive as the original voices.

Kirby has to be updated to match the copy abilities, Ness shares a voice actor and had PK Freeze. Marth is the same as Melee Marth but with some Japanese cut... Pikachu is a mix of old and new but still largely outdated, and Yoshi's still on 64 clips. Lucario was in a Palutena situation in Brawl, and lastly, Rosalina and Sonic were completely reused from MK7 and Sonic Generations.

There's both greater disservices to character voices and the fanbase is split on the Smash versions of DK and Bowser. I don't think it's nearly as big a deal as people make it out to be...

Apparently Japan (of course only Japan) got this thing called Miibot which is basically a Nintendo version of Siri on Miiverse. Looks cool.
What made me laugh is someone asked "Who is BEN?" Miibot replied with "BEN is a statue." MIIBOT KNOWS ABOUT BEN DROWNED!!! :O
