You use IS like you would use a slightly quicker and more mobile charge shot (SH it). And then SHFF UAir juggle.

Hyper bomb is cool. It's awkward AF because of its weird trajectories and it doesn't stay on the ground allowing you to do stuff with it. I haven't played around with it much, because I'm still trying to get a better aggro game based on item metal blade stuff to his poor air-ground game better. It's probably the most unexplored custom and will stay that way because we don't have a lot of lab coats in the Mega Man community.

Mega Man is fun. I've used him for a while now sans this week where I went mostly Shulk. Like, he's not my second main or anywhere near that but I know how to use him.

after the MMO talk the other day I've started feeling some interest toward getting back into Elsword again and that terrifies me because my life is a lot better without a horribly-managed MMO in it (bonus points against getting back into it: nerfs to my character since I last played, my equipment's outdated now, and what I've seen of the new stages didn't look appealing). I guess it might be harmless if I don't get too serious about it, maybe I'd just get bored with it after a week and the problem'll solve itself.

I'm not sure if I can will myself into getting back into Gunvolt scorerunning, relearning Special Mission 2 from the ground up to get an S+ is going to be such a chore, and learning the stage layout is only half the problem.And then even after getting an S+ I wouldn't be content with the score until it was over 2mil

Play Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door if you have it. It's fairly easy but very fun to play with amazing writing. IIRC you said you hadn't played it, right?

Anyone up for a few matches before I go to bed? 3DS is preferred but I can do Wii U if you want.

Shadow Blade is weird. I do like how shadow blade>Usmash is a thing though, and that's really valuable for a character with basically no kill setups (FH diagonal MB>utilt or landing traps>stuff or airdodge trap>BAir).

Iunno. I run 1111 a lot and most of my locals don't really like customs a whole lot. Also, a few of my personal sets aren't on the EVO list and I've been too lazy to put them on everyone's console. (default + ice slasher, default + ice slasher + plant barrier, default + beat).

Skull Barrier is a cool and is useful in matchups even without projectiles because you generate projectiles for them (MB) and it ignores the crash bomb explosion when you have it on allowing you to get a free grab. I've thought about running it more consistently, since I really suck at using leaf shield (and go sets without using it at all).

I guess if I'm enjoying Gunvolt still this'd maybe be a good time to get into the Mega Man Zero games.

Cheatsy Tip(in case you didn't know): If you're characters have skills that give them health from kills/finishing a battle, you can set some auto-walk arrows in a circle, walk onto it, place a heavy book onto the A button, and leave it for some serious farming...if your desperate enough

4 more weeks of school meaning 4 more weeks of having to wake up at 7:40am without any naps after that except for the rare moment at school. (And even then in uncomfortable positions).

2 more weeks of actual work. 2 weeks of final studies and then the actual finals. Man, while some teachers decided to cut us a break now, some actually want to make it harder before we get to the end.

I can see the finish line though. It is so close!

Just got what I think was my first Timber axe shieldbreak. It was against a Shulk (sorry berserker.). He had shielded the tree growth and a few other things so his shield was a little low on health. In I come from the air and he shielded, probably expecting a NAir. Instead I whip out my 20 shield damage axe and shatter Monado Boy's shield, earning him a bowling ball to the face. Not really sure why holding a bowling ball for longer makes it do more damage but HEY.

He wasn't a terrible Shulk but he didn't use the arts much. How good do you think Vanilla Shulk is? Obviously what his high-level game revolves around is good use of the Monado Arts but fundamentals are important.

Vanilla Shulk is really really mediocre. Like, his recovery is alright. His speed is average. Air speed is pretty good. Air deceleration is garbage. Frame data is garbage. Damage output is decent. Range remains to be godlike. He can still space decently.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. He really has no safe approach (still doesn't even with other arts but he does better) but can still punish well. A lot of what makes him scary comes from the Monado arts though. Getting rushed in Speed, being chased to the blastline by Jump, having your key KO moved tanked by Shield, taking 50% or more in three hits in Buster, or dying at 100% or earlier to Smash dash attack.

How much is his damage output reduced in Shield?
