They like to pull pranks on other smashers but they're good kids at heart, Ness is the voice of reason of the group.

Isabelle acts as the big sister of the group and makes sure nobody gets in trouble (And it works !)

This is my squad strike team.
for 3, for 5.
& are like siblings with being the motherly type, is like the one who does funny things with them and is the token bad teammate that's reluctant to do good but joins them since she enjoys their company.

The powered armor ended up with a hard AI and didn't want to be occupied by Samus. Samus and Sheik became good friends and they taught each other different fighting styles and talked about their victories and struggles. Meanwhile, Ridley argued with Dark Samus for having once been her thrall. He refuses to be second in command, and prefers he be the commander. Yet, if he must, he'll settle for being a partner instead. It's more about pride, since he doesn't want to be subjugated by someone who looks like his arch-enemy.

I like the idea of the AI for Samus's armor, that would explain the robotic noises it makes when it gets star KO'd.

In this alternate universe 'Dark'-Pit is loyal warrior of light who is sent on missions for Palutena. Along the way on his ventures he befriends a enthusiastic yellow Yoshi who acts as his trusty 'steed'. Palutena is involved enough to give advice or even step in when things get rough!
In another alternative universe, this Pit is a warrior of light from the heavens on a quest of noble cause who (again) befriends the Yoshi. Link, who is a mysterious elven bounty-hunter of few words and good heart. He is met at a shady tavern and upon learning he has invaluable information/experience a deal is struck that if he joins and helps accomplish the quest he shall be rewarded with treasures from the heavens to which he agrees. Later, they come across a lone light mage known as Palutena who is ecstatic at the notion of journeying alongside a warrior of the heavens and solemnly vows to serve till her dying breath. Greninja is of a race shrouded in mystery who were once peaceful bubble loving tribes turned evil through captivity and subjected into service through shadow arts. This particular one is a spy who was sent to spy on Pit since his first arrival but is eventually found-out by the group which leads to a small skirmish but ends with Greninja being purged of darkness. He then enters a self-imposed life debt to which in turn Pit promises he will be free from after he frees Greninja's people on the quest against the evil forces. I think you can generally imagine how they'd all interact with each other based on their introductions.

These teams are likely subject to change as I haven't had enough time with the game but so far these seem the most accurate to what I'd use in squad strike.

Bowser, taking cues from Mario, made this fun alliance to have fun brawls. He is also the leader and a comical one at that.
Wolf easily gets along with Bowser. He his labeled as the most savage one.
Inkling also easily gets along with Bowser, and she is the second in command, and also a comical one at that.
Greninja spooked Inkling, since Greninja is a water type Pokémon, meaning super effective against Inkling, but she got over it, and they became allies, as long as no water attacks come her way. Greninja is labeled as the speedster.
Dark Meta Knight allies with the heroes, and due to how aggressive he his, compared the other fighter, he is the last resort.

My main squad strike team:
Here is how these five fighters came together:
Kirby and Yoshi have been close friends since 64. During the Melee days, Kirby lost a lot of his skills and struggled to fight back. While some of the other fighters bullied the poor pink puffball, Yoshi would always stick up for him and would always make sure that Kirby was not alone. They teamed up all the time in team battle tournaments and even caused some upsets.
During the Brawl days however, Kirby started to get cocky as he was getting better which led to him ditching Yoshi when he was getting worse. The two stop hanging out at a point and Yoshi started to get really upset about himself in his performance in Smash. “Why can’t I become a better fighter? Why do I even bother competing when I know I will just humiliate myself?” He asked himself.
One day, Samus talked with him when he was by himself. She reassured him that no fighter is perfect and that he will get his calling. She went on to let him know that Smash isn’t everything and that he is cool and fun the way he is. From there, the two became very close friends and started to hangout together more often and even teamed up in team battles occasionally.
Before the next Smash tournament, Kirby realized he did not care for the attention he got and that he really missed his dino buddy. He approached Yoshi nervously, worried that Yoshi hated him and never wanted to speak to him again, and apologized for the way he acted throughout the Brawl years and he really wanted to be friends with Yoshi again. He started crying while he was speaking, knowing that he messed up really badly. However, Yoshi quickly pulled the puffball into a hug and forgave him for everything. The two, along with Samus, became best friends and became a threesome that hung out regularly.
Smash 4 begins, and almost all of the new fighters are met with warm welcomes. However two fighters in particular were completely shunned by the cast and the community. Palutena, the Goddess of Light, was seen as weak by the other fighters and nobody wanted to ever work with her or train with her because they felt like fighting her was a waste of time. However, Samus had battle with Palutena in her zero suit form and barely edged out over the goddess in a very close match. As Palutena was about to leave the area in disappointment, Samus caught up with her and told the Goddess that she has a lot of potential and that she was really fun to fight against. From there, the two became great friends as Samus helped Palutena make more friends as well as showing her potential as a fighter when she nearly gave up.
Everyone in the Smash community thought that Pac-Man was either weird, ugly, or even creepy. This really upsets Pac-Man as he spends the first few nights completely alone. However, Kirby and Yoshi began to worry about him as he did not show up for any of the matches or events. Soon, they confronted Pac-Man about the situation which leads to him telling them about how everyone sees him as nothing but a freak or glutton. However, Kirby and Yoshi reassured him that there was nothing weird about him and they even pointed their own weird traits and gluttonous attitudes. The three began to chat about food, colors, and other fun activities. Pac-Man agreed to team up with the two in a triple team battle tournament and everyone was impressed with his style and his extremely moves that he made. He quickly became more popular, but he was never as close with anyone as he was with Kirby and Yoshi.
Eventually, the five met together and formed the Pentagon of Friendship, as Yoshi calls it. The five are not super popular among the other fighters, but they are respected as they are very close with each other. No matter what tough times they have gone through, they stick together, they support each other, and they fight together.

I've only played Smash four times with people in real life-
I have never gotten to play this mode nor the Smackdown mode.
Heartache.
EDIT: I made an actual date for this. And it was the best experience I have had in Smash.
These modes changed my world.

How the trio met each other:
At the start of 64 little Kirby himself was timid and frightened during the first Smash Bros. and everyone just ignored or left him making the poor puffball feel sad and lonely. Until one stormy night a certain green dinosaur named Yoshi heard some whimpering coming from the closed door, worried about the puffball Yoshi decides to open it and sees Kirby in his bed trembling made Yoshi concerned when a sudden flash of lightning and thunder makes Yoshi jump in fright as Kirby starts crying harder. (Kirby has astrapophobia) Yoshi then walks over to Kirby's bed seeing the puffball's face wet with tears streaming down as he sniffs made the poor dinosaur's heart break as Kirby reaches out to Yoshi in return he soothes and hugs the little puffball rocking back and fro as Kirby cries into Yoshi's chest to calm the puffball down, and Yoshi introduces himself to the puffball whom Kirby happily greets too and says if he can come with Yoshi. The dinosaur happily doesn't mind as he carries the puffball to his room and lies down with Kirby snuggled against him with the duo falling asleep. After this the two had hit off as friends and like siblings to each other.
In Melee when it came out the other Smashers were treating Kirby cruelly and hurting him due to being worthless, Yoshi was so very. VERY. ANGRY. having enough of this and sticks up for him protecting the puffball several times. Before the next Smash Brothers, Kirby thanked Yoshi by giving him a heartwarming hug for the many times he and Kirby stood up to the others and most importantly being a caring friend as well.
When Brawl was released, Yoshi was a bit frightened by King Dedede due to him being imposing and ominous in appearance causing the dinosaur to run away from him. This confused both Kirby and Dedede also concerned that the two hadn't seen Yoshi so many times so they ended up going to his room and see Yoshi curled up against the wall when Dedede tries to go close Yoshi starts to whimper.

They just treat the whole thing like good physical exercise. Dr. Mario and Wii Fit Trainer became good friends previously and Isabelle joined their team when she realized they don't intend to harm anyone and want everyone to be fit and healthy.

They are the Stupid Smesh Bros. Crazy Hand named them. Only Crazy could think up a name like that. Anyways, they're an odd group of friends who hang out together and fight battles. Amazingly, it was Falco who brought the group together because of the switching between games. Of course he knew Fox beforehand, but how he got the others together are three stories for another day.
As for their group dynamic, Fox is the self-proclaimed leader that nobody listens to, Falco is the second-in-command who's quick to challenge Fox, Daisy's the tough tomboy who's also quick to challenge Fox, Greninja is the calm and collected speed fighter and also the voice of reason in the group, and Pichu is the adorable cheerleader who always goes last in Squad Strikes because nobody wants him to get hurt.
