It's a beautiful Yellow in crystal and powder form
Heat it up and it turns into a blood red polymer
Heat it up more and it turns into a pitch black isotope
It burns with a bright pale blue flame
And it has an awesome nickname "Brimstone", for it's smell and poisonous compound fumes when heated

Aluminum

It actually started out named Alumium by the person that discovered it. Then he settled on Aluminum, but the English scientists at the time wanted it to sound fancier and more in line with the Latin/Greek nomenclature, so they added in the extra syllable (the British love doing this with everything). Aluminium - I admit I like the way it sounds but I use Aluminum since it's more efficient and it's closer to what the discoverer intended it to be named.
