You suicide before your opponent flying off in the background dies. Who wins?

In a tournament setting, if the would-be winner died by suicide while his opponent was already in the 'turning into a star in the background' animation, who would be declared the winner?

there was a match online where it was wolf VS samus i think. and the wolf player got their FS and was lifting the player to the top of the level to get the kill when wolf died instantly and samus started her slow fade away death animation lol.

for a time match, the SD guy would. SD's only counted -1 against you in Melee. I hated that so much I never played time without -2 rule set on SD's.

It depends what player you are. If you take bowser with his forward-B and suicide while being player 1, you will always win. If you do it as player 2 to player 1, it will go to sudden death. Same rules apply with player 2 against a player 3 and so forth.

You sure it goes like that?! I know theres port priority in Melee but in Brawl also? That's so lame. Stupid bugs.
